Pukinmäki Railway Station
Pukinmäki railway station (, ) is a railway station in the Pukinmäki district of Helsinki, Finland. It is located between the stations of Oulunkylä and Malmi, along the main railroad track from Helsinki to Riihimäki, on top of Kehä I. The station is served by commuter trains , , and . History Pukinmäki railway station was originally opened in June 1886 near the Pukinmäki Manor as a small stop (known as ''laituri'' in the old classification of railway stations in Finland used until 1969) for local trains that operated under the Malmi railway station. At first, the stop was used only in the summer, but ten years later it was in use throughout the year. In the 1900's, the areas near the stop were turned into villa properties and in 1915 a densely populated community was formed in Pukinmäki. The first station building was completed around 1910. Helsinki Commuter Rail
Helsinki commuter rail (, ) is a commuter rail system serving the Helsinki metropolitan area. The system is managed by the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) and operations are contracted out to VR Group, VR at least until 2031. The system operates on four railway lines and comprises 13 services, all of which terminate at Helsinki Central Station. Within the HSL region, tickets and timetables are fully integrated with other modes of public transport. Some VR commuter rail services extend into the HSL region, and HSL tickets are used instead of VR ones when travelling entirely within the HSL region. Both parties discontinued onboard ticket sales in 2017. Kehä I
Ring I (pronounced "ring one", , ) is the busiest road in Finland, carrying up to 113,000 vehicles per day. It is the innermost of the three beltways in the Helsinki capital region, numbered as regional route 101 and runs from the easternmost part of Espoo to Itäkeskus in eastern Helsinki. Pukinmäki () is a district on the northeastern part of Helsinki, Finland. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Riihimäki (; ) is a town and municipality in the south of Finland, about north of Helsinki and southeast of Tampere.
