Sándor Puhl
Sándor Puhl (14 July 1955 – 20 May 2021) was a Hungarian football referee, best known for officiating four matches in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States, including the final between Brazil and Italy. He also refereed UEFA Champions League matches, including the 1997 UEFA Champions League Final between Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. Dortmund ended up winning 3–1. Arguably, Sandor Puhl is most famous for referreeing the last world cup qualifier for France 98 between Iran and Australia where Iran shockingly came from 2-0 down to tie the game 2-2 and qualify for the World Cup due to the away goal rule. He was elected as IFFHS' World's Best Referee of the Year four consecutive times: 1994 - 1997. After retiring as a referee, he was Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian Football Association (2000-2006). Terry Stephen Puhl (born July 8, 1956) is a Canadian former professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball as a outfielder from 1977 to 1991, most prominently as a member of the Houston Astros where he helped the franchise win its first-ever National League Western Division title and postseason berth in . A National League All-Star in 1978, Puhl excelled defensively as an outfielder, committing just 18 errors in 1,300 career games. His .993 fielding percentage is the best among outfielders in Astros history and ranks 8th all-time among all outfielders in National League (NL) history. Puhl also served as the head coach of the University of Houston–Victoria's baseball team and the manager of the Canada national baseball team. John Puhl
John G. Puhl (July 10, 1876 – August 24, 1900) was an American professional baseball player from Brooklyn, New York who appeared in three games over two seasons with the New York Giants from 1898 to 1899. He began his professional baseball career with the New London Whalers of the Connecticut State League in 1898 at the age of 21. He played for the Whalers from May 4 until September 10 then was signed by the New York Giants of the National League. Puhl appeared in two games for the Giants as their third baseman, collecting two hits in nine at bats, scored one run and had one run batted in. In 1899, Puhl returned to the Connecticut League to play for the Bridgeport Orators, and appeared in 19 games and had a .145 batting average. Later in season, he again signed with the Giants, playing one game at third base, and went hitless in two at bats.
