Puerto Cortés, Baja California Sur
Puerto Cortés is a small settlement on Isla Santa Margarita, off the Pacific coast of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. It is part of the municipality of Comondú. There is a naval base there. It is sometimes used as a breakpoint in metereological reports. The 2010 census reported no official resident population. Juan Suby, a member of the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame, was born in Puerto Cortés. Baja California Sur, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Baja California Sur, is a state in Mexico. It is the 31st and last state to be admitted, in 1974. It is also the second least populated Mexican state and the ninth-largest state by area. Comondú Municipality
Comondú is a municipality in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. It had a population of 73,021 inhabitants in 2020. With a land area of 16,318.6 km2 (7,072.9 sq mi), it is the seventh-largest municipality in area in Mexico. The municipal seat is located in Ciudad Constitución. The Spanish missions of San José de Comondú and San Luis Gonzaga are located in this municipality. The Rocas Alijos, a group of tiny uninhabited rocks that are 300 km west off the coast, are part of the municipality. Juan Suby
Juan Hernández Camacho (16 September 1940 – 12 March 1995), better known Juan Suby, was Mexican professional baseball pitcher. He played 17 seasons in the Mexican League for the Pericos de Puebla, Charros de Jalisco, Tigres del México, and Alijadores de Tampico, winning three league titles. He also played 14 seasons in the Mexican Pacific League. Nicknamed Brazo de Acero (''Arm of Steel'') for his durability, Suby was inducted into the 2013 class of the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame. Early years Juan Hernández Camacho was born on 16 September 1940 in Puerto Cortés, Baja California Sur, though he moved to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca at a young age. He practiced cycling in his adolescence. The Salón de la Fama del Beisbol Mexicano (in English, Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame), commonly called the Salón de la Fama (Hall of Fame) is a baseball hall of fame and museum located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, inaugurated on 10 March 1973. It is dedicated to recognizing people who have contributed greatly to baseball in Mexico. It had its first five inductees in 1939.
