''Psyence'' is the second album by Japanese musician hide (musician), hide, released on September 2, 1996. It topped the Oricon Albums Chart and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, RIAJ for sales over 500,000 copies. The album was re-released on the Japan only format SHM-CD on December 3, 2008. Overview Eric Westfall, one of the album's recording and mixing engineers, was told that hide requested to work with him after the musician heard some of Westfall's work and liked the guitar sounds. When forming Zilch (band), Zilch, hide and Kazuhiko "I.N.A." Inada did not preemptively divide the songs they were working on between hide's solo career and the new band. As such, an English version of "Damage" was first recorded before the Japanese version that appears on ''Psyence'', but it was not included on ''3.2.1.''. "Hi-Ho"/"Good Bye" is the seventh and only A-side and B-side, double A-side single by Japanese musician Hide (musician), hide, released on December 18, 1996. It reached number 8 on the Oricon chart. The music for "Beauty & Stupid Tokyo Ska Version" is performed by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. , known professionally as hide, was a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band X Japan from 1987 to 1997 and rose to prominence in Asia as a solo artist from 1993 to 1998, until his death. He also formed the United States–based rock supergroup (music), supergroup Zilch (band), Zilch in 1996. Hide sold millions of records, both solo and as a member of X Japan. X Japan rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s, credited as founders of the Japanese visual kei movement. When they disbanded in 1997, he focused on his solo career which started four years prior and went on to enjoy significant popularity. D'erlanger
D'erlanger (stylized as D'ERLANGER) is a Japanese rock band from Kyoto Prefecture, formed in 1983 by guitarist Cipher and bassist Seela. While they originally played speed and power metal, after recruiting drummer Tetsu and vocalist Kyo they switched to a punk rock sound for their debut album '' La Vie En Rose'' in 1989. Although it was on an indie label, it sold out and was reissued three times that year, earning them a major label record deal with BMG Japan the following year. They released ''Basilisk'' in March 1990 and it reached the top five on the charts. However, in December the group suddenly announced their disbandment. Defspiral (stylized as defspiral, and briefly existing under the name Wilma-Sidr) is a Japanese visual kei alternative metal band composed of most of the former members of the Underneath. When the Underneath disbanded in 2010, January 23rd, 2010, retrieved January 27, 2010 most of the group was signed to Avex Mode to perform songs for the Kamen Rider Series. This occurred with a change to their style to a smoother, slicker and more seductive style than their previous incarnations. Zilch (stylized as zilch or ) was a rock supergroup that was formed in 1996 by Hideto "hide" Matsumoto ( X Japan), Ray McVeigh (formerly of The Professionals), Paul Raven ( Killing Joke), Joey Castillo ( Danzig and Queens of the Stone Age), and Kazuhiko "I.N.A." Inada ( hide with Spread Beaver). Before the release of their first album, '' 3.2.1.'', the group had already faced a major setback, as frontman hide died in May 1998. Bish, stylized as BiSH, was a Japanese alternative idol girl group who was founded in 2015 by their manager Junnosuke Watanabe.
