Przemysław Kasperkiewicz
Przemysław Kasperkiewicz (born 1 March 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who most recently rode for French amateur team in 2021. Career Early years Kasperkiewicz took up cycling at a very early age and competed in track and road cycling with a local club – KTK Kalisz. He showed a lot of promise as a junior rider, winning medals and national titles on the track and taking 2nd in the international junior race, the Tour de la Région de Lódz. Coming to the Under-23 category Kasperkiewicz moved to the Netherlands and joined the WV De Jonge Renner cycling club. He raced both in Polish and Dutch races, putting his prowess on display with 6th place in the Carpathian Couriers Race and 2nd in the National Under-23 Time Trial Championships. Rutland–Melton CiCLE Classic
The Rutland–Melton International CiCLE Classic is a road bicycle race that starts in Oakham and finishes in Melton Mowbray. The 2008 version was 158 km long. The race is characterised by its off-road sections and short, sharp climbs on narrow and treacherous farm tracks – taking its inspiration from the Paris–Roubaix and Tour of Flanders (men's race), Tour of Flanders. Originally part of the British Premier Calendar, from 2008 it is a 1.2 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Tour de Bretagne Cycliste, also known as the Tour de Bretagne trophée des granitiers and formerly known as Ruban Granitier Breton, is an annual early season professional road bicycle racing, cycling stage race held in late April and early May in Brittany, France. The race often acts as a showcase for upcoming riders of the under-23 category who race together with Elite riders. The race was renamed Tour de Bretagne in 2005 when it also became a professional race. The 2007 edition was dominated by Lars Boom and Edvald Boasson Hagen who both wore the leader's jersey and won stages of the race. Rás Tailteann (; "Tailteann Race"), often shortened to the Rás, is an annual international cycling stage race, held in Ireland. Traditionally held in May, the race returned after a hiatus in 2022 as 5 day event held in June. By naming the race Rás Tailteann the original organisers, members of the National Cycling Association (NCA), were associating the cycle race with the Tailteann Games (ancient), Tailteann Games, a Gaelic festival in early medieval Ireland. The event was founded by Joe Christle in 1953 and was organised under the rules of the National Cycling Association (NCA). At that time competitive cycling in Ireland was deeply divided between three cycling organisations, the NCA, Cumann Rothaiochta na hÉireann (CRÉ) and the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation (NICF). 2016 European Road Championships
The 2016 European Road Cycling Championships was the 22nd running of the European Road Cycling Championships, that took place over 14–18 September 2016 in Plumelec, France. The event consisted of a total of 5 road races and 5 time trials, regulated by the Union Européenne de Cyclisme (UEC). The 2016 championships were the first to be run with elite events for riders over 23 years of age, although the women's under-23 events were combined with the women's elite events. Relocation of the championships Initially the championships were planned to be held in Nice, France. However, on 5 August, three weeks after the Bastille Day terrorist attack there, mayor Philippe Pradal cancelled their hosting of the event, stating that the championships would require a large police presence which had not yet been guaranteed to him. Olympia's Tour
The Olympia's Tour is a cycling stage race held in the Netherlands. History A.S.C. Olympia was founded in Amsterdam on 27 November 1898. It ran one-day races but wanted a race through all the Netherlands. The first Olympia's Tour was in 1909, with three stages and one rest day. The second in 1910 went to Maastricht and Groningen. It was 17 years before the third race, partly because races on public roads were forbidden in the Netherlands during the First World War. An international field with 16 Germans, the champions of Switzerland and Luxembourg and around 40 Dutch riders left the Rembrandtplein on 17 August 1927. The Dutch were mainly amateurs, the Germans sponsored riders who rode for bicycle manufacturers such as Opel and Diamant which provided material and a support team.
