Prototype (song)
"Prototype" is a song recorded by American duo Outkast for their fifth studio album ''Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'' (2003). It was written, produced and performed by André 3000, and was included on his disc ''The Love Below''. A mid-tempo ballad, the track fuses funk and neo soul styles against a guitar-driven instrumentation. Lyrically a love song, it is an ode to its protagonist's love interest. The song was released as the fifth and final single from ''Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'' on September 27, 2004, by Arista Records and LaFace Records. "Prototype" received critical acclaim, predominantly directed towards its instrumentation and sonic quality, both upon the release of ''Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'' and in retrospective commentaries. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or '' ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. They were widely used across Europe, and later in Australia, North Africa, North America and South America. Ballads are often 13 lines with an ABABBCBC form, consisting of couplets (two lines) of rhymed verse, each of 14 syllables. A major (or the key of A) is a major scale based on A, with the pitches A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Its key signature has three sharps. Its relative minor is F-sharp minor and its parallel minor is A minor. Okayplayer
Okayplayer is an online hip-hop and alternative music website and community, described by ''Rolling Stone'' as a "tastemaker" and "an antidote to dull promotional Web sites used by most artists". The community was founded by The Roots' drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and author Angela Nissel as a loose musical collective in 1987, and evolved into an online community in 1999. In 2004, Questlove launched Okayplayer Records as a spin-off of the community, in partnership with Decon. A double album (or double record) is an audio album that spans two units of the primary medium in which it is sold, typically either records or compact disc. The Microcassette (often written generically as microcassette) is an audio storage medium, introduced by Olympus in 1969. It has the same width of magnetic tape as the Compact Cassette but in a cassette roughly one quarter the size. By using thinner tape and half or a quarter the tape speed, microcassettes can offer comparable recording time to the compact cassette but in a smaller package.
