Prisión Fatal (January 2017)
Prisión Fatal (2017) was a professional wrestling major event, scripted and produced by the Mexico based International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) professional wrestling promotion. The event took on January 1, 2017, at "Arena Naucalpan" in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, IWRG's main venue. The show was also the IWRG 21st Anniversary Show, marking the creation of IWRG on January 1, 1996. It was the seventh time IWRG held a Prisión Fatal event, all of which featured the eponymous Prisión Fatal (Spanish for "Deadly Prison") Steel cage match as the main event. In the Prisión Fatal match the last person remaining in the cage is forced to unmasked as per the match stipulation. For this version of the Prisión Fatal steel cage match IWRG booked Golden Magic, Imposible, Pirata Morgan Jr. and Relámpago, who all risked their wrestling mask. International Wrestling Revolution Group
International Wrestling Revolution Group (Grupo Internacional Revolución in Spanish language, Spanish; the Spanish name is used for the promotion while the English initials are used for the title governing body) is a Lucha Libre professional wrestling promotion, promotion based in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. Founded in 1996 by Adolfo Moreno and since Moreno's death in late 2007 has been controlled by his sons Alfredo and Marco Moreno. IWRG has its own championships but like many Mexican promotions recognizes champions from other promotions, occasionally allowing them to defend those titles on IWRG shows. Imposible (wrestler)
Imposible is a Mexican '' luchador enmascarado'' (or masked professional wrestler), who currently works for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). He has also worked under the ring name Fuerza Guerrera Nueva Generación (or Fuerza Guerrera NG). He is not related to Fuerza Guerrera, but was officially allowed to use the name by his trainer. His real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Guerra de Sexos is a professional wrestling event produced annually by Lucha Libre promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The event was established in 2011 and is held in February. The concept of the show was that each main event match was to be contested as a Mixed Steel Cage Match, with male, female, ''Mini-Estrella'' and ''Exótico'' competitors in the match at the same time. The last person in the cage would be forced to either remove their wrestling mask, or if already unmask have their hair shaved off under the ''Lucha de Apuestas'', or bet match, rules. IWRG Guerra Del Golfo
Tetsuya Bushi, risked his mask twice in ''La Guerra del Golfo'' tournaments. Guerra del Golfo (Spanish for "Gulf War") is both the name of a major show series promoted by the Mexican ''Lucha Libre'', or professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as well as the name of the tournament match that is the focal point of the show. The tournament consists of two first-round steel cage matches where the last person in the cage advances to the final match of the night. In the finals the two losers face off in a cage match where the loser of that match is either unmasked or forced to have their hair shaved off under ''Luchas de Apuestas'' rules. Wrestling Promotion
A professional wrestling promotion is a company or business that regularly performs shows involving professional wrestling. "Promotion" also describes a role which entails management, advertising and logistics of running a wrestling event. Within the convention of the show, the company is a sports governing body which sanctions wrestling matches and gives authority to the championships and is responsible for maintaining the divisions and their rankings. The International Wrestling Revolution Group Anniversary Shows is an annual major ''lucha libre'' event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG; sometimes referred to as ''Grupo Internacional Revolución'' in Mexico). The show is always held on or just after January 1 each year, marking the creation of IWRG on January 1, 1996. The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) was a Mexican ''Lucha Libre'' or professional wrestling promotion based in Naucalpan, Mexico State that operated from 1975 until 1995. The name of the actual promotion was Promociones Mora y Asociados and later Lucha Libre Internacional (LLI) ("International wrestling") but outside of Mexico it is generally referred to as the UWA as it was the name of the fictional international sanctioning body that in storyline terms oversaw all championships promoted by LLI. ''Súper Luchas'' is a Spanish-language publication covering lucha libre and other forms of professional wrestling. The publication began as a print magazine in 1991 and later became the largest lucha libre magazine in the world and remained one of the few professional wrestling magazines to survive to the 2000s but now operates mainly as an online website.
