Primera División Peruana 2009
The 2009 Torneo Descentralizado de Fútbol Profesional (known as the Copa Cable Mágico for sponsorship reasons) was the 93rd season of Association Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament. The season began on February 14 and concluded on December 13 with the victory of Universitario de Deportes over Alianza Lima in the second leg of the final Play-off, giving Universitario its twenty-fifth Peruvian title. Competitions modus The season was divided into 3 stages. In the first stage the 16 teams played a round-robin home-and-away round for a total of 30 matches each. In the second stage the 16 teams were divided into 2 groups. The 8 teams that ranked an odd number played in the group Liguilla A and the 8 teams that ranked an even number played in Liguilla B. José Gálvez FBC
José Gálvez FBC is a Peruvian football club based in Chimbote, Ancash. The club was founded in 1951 under the name Manuel Rivera after the famous Chimbote born footballer Manuel Rivera. The club was forced to change its name because the FPF did not allow clubs to be named after living people. Then on 11 November 1963 the club decided the new name would be José Gálvez FBC. The club currently plays in the Copa Perú, the fourth tier of the Peruvian football league system. More recently the club played in the Peruvian Second Division and finished as champions in 2011. Foot Ball Club Melgar, known simply as FBC Melgar or Melgar, is a Peru, Peruvian professional Association football, football club based in Arequipa. It is one of Peru's oldest football teams, founded in 1915 under the name Juventud Melgar by a group of football enthusiasts from Arequipa. The club currently competes in the Peruvian Primera División, the top tier of Peruvian football. 2008 Peruvian Segunda División
The 2008 season of the Peruvian Segunda División season was the 63rd edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. There were 10 teams in play. Only 7 teams from last season remain. Sport Águila, from the 2007 Copa Perú, was promoted to this season's edition, and Total Clean and Deportivo Municipal were relegated from the first division. Unión Huaral was not relegated last season but they dropped out and participated in the Copa Perú. Each team will play 27 games. The teams will first play home-and-away games. The teams will then play each other for a third time. The team that will play at home is going to be determined by the results of the first two games: the one with the better aggregate will play at home. Colegio Nacional Iquitos
Colegio Nacional Iquitos (usually referred to as CNI) is a Peruvian football team based in the city of Iquitos which was founded in 1926. CNI is the biggest club in the city of Iquitos and currently is not playing in any league. At the beginning of 2012 CNI withdrew from Peruvian Segunda División and chose to play in the 2012 Copa Perú, after being relegated from Primera División in 2011. History On May 20, 1926 there was a meeting of 47 alumni of the Colegio Nacional Iquitos, their principal, Pedro A. del Águila Hidalgo and Isabel Aguilar, with the purpose of establishing the ''Asociación Deportiva Colegio Nacional Iquitos''. 2008 Copa Perú
The 2008 Copa Perú season (), the promotion tournament of Peruvian football, started on February 1. The tournament has 5 stages. The first four stages are played as mini-league round-robin tournaments, except for third stage in region IV, which is played as a knockout stage. The final stage features two knockout rounds and a final four-team group stage to determine the two promoted teams. The 2008 Peru Cup started with the District Stage () on February 1. The next stage was the Provincial Stage () which started, on June 1. The tournament continued with the Departamental Stage () on July 16. The Regional Staged followed. Ayacucho Fútbol Club, more popularly known as Ayacucho, is a Peruvian professional football club located in Ayacucho, Peru. The club won a Second Division title in 2006, and as Inti Gas, the club finished as runner-up in 2008. Total Chalaco was a professional Peruvian football club based in Callao. The club last played in the Peruvian Primera División in 2010. They placed last and were relegated and subsequently dissolved. The club was founded as Total Clean FBC, and played in Arequipa at the Estadio Mariano Melgar. As ''Total Clean'', they won the Copa Perú in 2006 and were promoted to the first division. They were relegated to the second division in 2007 but quickly ascended to the first division for 2009. The club was in a large amount of debt and sold 51% of the club to the vice-president of Atlético Chalaco. The club was renamed and relocated to Callao.
