Invierno 1997 was the 58th edition of the top professional division of Mexican football, known as Primera División de México, it was the first short tournament of the 1997–98 season. It started on July 25 and ended on October 26, 1997. UANL was promoted and Pachuca was relegated to the Primera División A. Cruz Azul were the champions and winning its 8th title, after defeated León in extra time with golden goal. Liga MX
Liga MX, also known as Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Mexico and the highest level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Liga Mayor (1943–1949) and also as Primera División de México (1949–2012), it has 18 participating clubs, with each season divided into two short tournaments, ''Apertura'' from July to December and ''Clausura'' from January to May. Antonio Mohamed
Ricardo Antonio Mohamed Matijević (born 2 April 1970) is an Argentinian football manager and former player. He is the current head coach of Liga MX club Toluca. Mohamed played as a striker, making his senior debut with Huracán in 1988 and being sold to Italian club Fiorentina in 1991. He never played for the side, and served loans at Boca Juniors and Independiente before resuming his career in Mexico. Carlos Germán Arangio (born 23 May 1976) is a retired professional football player from Argentina who played as a striker. Professional career Playing for Racing Club de Avellaneda, Arangio made his First Division debut in 1994.
