Pretty Pine, New South Wales
Pretty Pine is a community in the central part of the Riverina and situated about 17 kilometres south of Wanganella and 18 kilometres north-west of Deniliquin. History The Pretty Pine Hotel In September 1875 it was reported that a new hotel was being constructed for Robert Holloway at 'Pretty Pine', on the road between Deniliquin and Wanganella. Pretty Pine was a locality north-west of Deniliquin, at the junction of the Moulamein and Wanganella roads, named after "a very handsome specimen of what is commonly known here as the colonial pine" at the location. Holloway was well known in the Riverina district. Moulamein is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, in the Murray River Council local government area. At the , Moulamein had a population of 484 . Moulamein is the oldest town in the Riverina. The town is located between Balranald, Hay, Deniliquin and Swan Hill, at the junction of the Edward River and Billabong Creek. Cobb & Co was the name used by several independent Australian coach businesses. The first company to use 'Cobb & Co' was established in 1853 by American Freeman Cobb and his partners. The name grew to great prominence in the late 19th century, when it was carried by many stagecoaches carrying passengers and mail to various Australian goldfields, and later to regional and remote areas of the Australian outback. The same name was used in New Zealand and Freeman Cobb used it in South Africa. Robert Rice Howard (known as "Nosey Bob" Howard) (''c''. March 1832 – 3 February 1906) was an Australian executioner. He was employed as a Executioner, hangman for the colony of New South Wales from 1875, initially as an assistant Executioner, hangman. Howard held the position of senior executioner from 1877 until he retired in 1904.
