Angelic Pretty (formerly Pretty from 1979–2001) is a Japanese apparel brand specializing in lolita fashion. The brand was established as Pretty in 1979 by Hiroko Honda, with its flagship store opened at Laforet in the Harajuku region of Tokyo, Japan, selling apparel from amateur designers. After Honda decided to focus on original apparel, the store was rebranded as Angelic Pretty in 2001. Edith May Pretty (née Dempster; 1 August 1883 – 17 December 1942) was an English landowner on whose land the Sutton Hoo ship burial was discovered after she hired Basil Brown, a local excavator and amateur archaeologist, to determine whether anything lay beneath the mounds on her property. Early life Edith Pretty was born in Elland, Yorkshire, to Elizabeth (née Brunton, died 1919) and Robert Dempster (born 1853). She had an older sister, Elizabeth. The Dempsters were wealthy industrialists who amassed their fortune from the manufacture of equipment related to the gas industry. Robert Dempster's father, also named Robert Dempster, had founded Robert Dempster and Sons in 1855 for this purpose. In 1884 the family moved to Manchester, where Robert founded the engineering firm R. & J. Dempster with his brother, John. The 60-second spot was handled by advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Oregon. Graeme Lloyd Pretty (June 24, 1940 – November 6, 2000) was an Australian anthropologist. Working at the South Australian Museum for over three decades, he worked with and studied many peoples, reaching almost every continent. Pretty assisted in the largest salvaging of ethnographic materials at the time in Papua New Guinea. His work curating and preserving cultural objects stretched beyond his tenure at the South Australian Museum; he worked as a researcher for the South Australian Museum and was a visiting fellow in the Department of Anatomical Sciences at the University of Adelaide. Diane Pretty (15 November 1958 – 11 May 2002) was a British woman from Luton who was the focus of a debate about the laws of euthanasia in the United Kingdom during the early part of the 21st century. She had attempted to change British law so she could end her own life because of the pains and problems that she endured because of her terminal illness motor neurone disease. She said "I want to have a quick death without suffering, at home surrounded by my family". Pretty had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease several years before. Over time, the disease worsened and made it impossible for her to move or communicate easily even though her mental faculties remained normal. The illness resulted in her having to be looked after round the clock by her husband and nurses, meaning that she could not commit suicide, which she had said she would do if she was able to.
