Presidential Leadership Council
The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC; ) is the executive body of Yemen's internationally recognized government, formed on 7 April 2022. It is chaired by Rashad al-Alimi and has a membership of eight, including representatives from Southern Transitional Council. The decree claims all powers of the president and vice president have been transferred to this council. However, it also vests the chairman with sweeping personal powers, including the ability to unilaterally command the military and appoint governors and other key officials. As of May 2023, three of the eight seats in the Presidential Leadership Council are held by members of the Southern Transitional Council. Emblem Of Yemen
The Emblem of Yemen depicts a golden eagle of Saladin with a scroll between its claws. On the scroll is written the name of the country in ('The Yemeni Republic'). The chest of the eagle contains a shield that depicts a coffee plant and the Marib Dam, with seven blue wavy stripes below. The flagstaffs on the right and left of the eagle hold the flag of Yemen. Historical emblems North Yemen From 1945 to 1990, Yemen was split into North and South. The North had an emblem more similar to the present day one, and its shield has similarities with the shield of the former Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen. Tareq Saleh
Tareq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh (; born 1970) is a Yemeni military commander and the nephew of the late President Ali Abdullah Saleh. He is currently a member of the presidential council of Yemen. His father was Major-General Mohammed Abdullah Saleh. Prior to the national crisis beginning in 2011, he headed the elite Presidential Guard. In 2012, he was ordered to stand down from this position. On 10 April 2013, he was appointed as a military attaché to Germany in an effort to remove the remnants of the previous regime. He re-emerged as a commander in the Houthi-Saleh alliance when the Yemeni Civil War broke out in 2015. When this alliance collapsed in 2017, Tareq Saleh commanded troops loyal to his uncle. Hadhramaut Governorate
Hadhramaut Governorate () is a governorate of Yemen. Lying within the large historical region of Hadhramaut, it is the country's largest governorate. The capital of Hadhramaut is the city of Mukalla. Other cities in Hadhramaut include the historical towns of Shibam, Sena, Seiyun, Tarim, and Ash Shihr. The Socotra Archipelago was transferred from the Aden Governorate to the Hadhramaut Governorate in 2004. It was subsequently separated to create Socotra Governorate in December 2013. Giants Brigades
The Southern Giants Brigades (), transliterated as Al Amalikah or Al Amaliqah, or simply known as the Giants Brigades, is a Cabinet of Yemen, pro-government Yemeni militia.
