Premio Casa de América de Poesía Americana (Casa de América Prize for American Poetry) is a literary prize awarded by the public consortium, "in order to stimulate new poetic writing in the Americas, with special attention to poems that open up or explore new perspectives and renovate themes". The prize, which awards unpublished works, has among its list of winners several important contemporary Latin American poets such as Yolanda Pantin, Piedad Bonnett, Carmen Boullosa Carmen Boullosa (; born September 4, 1954, in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican poet, novelist and playwright. Óscar Hahn
Óscar Arturo Hahn Garcés (born 5 July 1938) is a Chilean writer and poet, and a member of the literary generation of the 1960s. Hahn has won multiple distinguished awards, notably the National Prize for Literature (Chile) and the Pablo Neruda Ibero-American Poetry Award. Early life and education Óscar Arturo Hahn Garcés was born on 5 July 1938, the son of Ralph Hahn Valdés and Enriqueta Garcés Sánchez. His father died when he was four years old. He began to write poetry during his adolescence in Rancagua, Chile. After falling in love, he felt compelled to write his first poems. He received his primary and secondary education in Iquique, Chile at the Don Bosco Salesian College and the Lyceum of Men. Hahn later attended the University of Chile. Jorge Galán Anaut (born 22 January 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward. Club career Born in Pamplona, Navarre, Galán made his professional – and La Liga – debut for hometown's CA Osasuna on 23 September 2009, in a game at Real Valladolid: replacing Carlos Aranda in the 70th minute, he scored the 2–1 winner in the next. He played a further 19 league matches during the season, all as a substitute. In mid-July 2010, a season-loan deal was arranged for Galán, as he joined Segunda División club SD Huesca. Hugo Mujica (born 30 August 1942) is an Argentine Catholic priest, poet, writer, and former Trappist monk. Biography Mujica was born in Avellaneda, a neighborhood near the city of Buenos Aires, to an anarchist syndicalist father. As his father became blind after a work accident when Mujica was only thirteen years of age, he began to work in a glass factory, continuing with high school at night school. At the same time he pursued studies in Fine Arts. Amidst the fervour of the sixties he settled in Greenwich Village, New York. There he began to study philosophy at the experimental Free University of New York, and resumed painting at School of Visual Arts. He was an active painter until the final years of the sixties when, following his own account, 'painting left me'. He briefly experimented with marijuana and LSD, part of the scene in those days.
