Poznań Nightingales
The Poznańskie Słowiki (en: Poznań Nightingales fr: Rossignols de Poznan de: Posener Nachtigallen) is a leading Polish choir founded in 1939. When the Germans expelled the priest of Poznań Cathedral, Wacław Gieburowski (1878–1943), a choirboy Stefan Stuligrosz, then aged 19, took up running of choir in Gieburowski's name. After the war the choir was recognised and in 1950 became the Boys' and Men's Choir of the Poznań Philharmonic. The choir toured America in 1963, and many countries worldwide thereafter. Stuligrosz was the conductor of the choir (died in 2012)and composer of over 600 choral pieces. Tadeusz Szeligowski Poznań Philharmonic is a regional cultural institution founded in 1947 on the initiative of Tadeusz Szeligowski as the State Philharmonic in Poznań; one of the two philharmonics in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. History The inauguration of the Philharmonic's activities took place on 10 November 1947 under the direction of Stanisław Wisłocki. Since March 1950, the Poznań Nightingales Choir, headed by Stefan Stuligrosz, has been operating at the Philharmonic. The Philharmonic is connected with Polish contemporary music festivals "Poznań Spring", another initiative of Szeligowski. Affabre Concinui
Affabre Concinui, also known as Affabre – The Chamber Singers, are a Polish a cappella vocal ensemble (sextet) founded in 1983 by alumni of two famous Polish choirs: Poznań Boys' Choir and Poznań Nightingales, inspired by the British ensemble The King's Singers. The name of the ensemble (Affabre Concinui) means in Latin "perfectly attuned" or "ideally harmonized", which is an artistic credo of the group. Bonaventura Rubino
Fray Bonaventura Rubino (c. 1600–1668) was an Italian composer. According to his publications, his origin of "Montecchio di Lombardia" probably indicates that he was from Montecchio in Darfo Boario Terme, one hour east of Bergamo. He was ''maestro di cappella'' at the Cathedral of Palermo from 1643 to 1665. Gabriel Garrido
Gabriel Garrido is an Argentinian conductor specialising in Italian baroque and the recovery of the baroque musical heritage of Latin America. Garrido was born 1950 in Buenos Aires, and at the age of 17 with the Argentine recorder quartet, Pro Arte, undertaking two tours in Europe. He studied music at University of La Plata, in Zurich, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, specialising in the lute, baroque guitar and reed instruments of the Renaissance. He became a member of the Ensemble Ricercare and Jordi Savall's Hesperion XX, with whom he made several recordings. From 1977 he was a teacher at the ''Centre de Musique Ancienne'' at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, where in 1981 he founded Ensemble Elyma a performance and research ensemble.
