Mi'kmaq
The Mi'kmaq (also ''Mi'gmaq'', ''Lnu'', ''Mi'kmaw'' or ''Mi'gmaw''; ; , and formerly Micmac) are an Indigenous group of people of the Northeastern Woodlands, native to the areas of Canada's Atlantic Provinces, primarily Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland, and the Gaspé Peninsula of Quebec as well as Native Americans in the northeastern region of Maine. The traditional national territory of the Mi'kmaq is named Mi'kma'ki (or Mi'gma'gi). Chapel Island 5
Chapel Island 5 is a Mi'kmaq reserve located in Richmond County, Nova Scotia. Its Míkmaq name is Potlotek and it is the spiritual capital of the Míkmaq Nation and the gathering place of the Míkmaq Grand Council, Mniku. Chapel Island 5 is administratively part of the Chapel Island First Nation. Chapel Island 5 is also the site of the St. Anne Mission, an important pilgrimage site for the Míkmaq.
