The Posts and Telecommunications Division () is the government division responsible for post and telecommunication under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology in Bangladesh and is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. History During the term of Tarana Halim as state minister of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission under the Posts and Telecommunications Division of the ministry engaged in struggle over turf with the Information and Communication Technology Division of the same ministry in 2017. The dispute was regarding who had authority over the fiber optic network in Bangladesh. The dispute drew criticism from the Bangladesh Parliament. Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) is a fiber optic submarine cable telecommunications company and telecommunications service provider (IIG and ISP) based in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) is a Bangladesh Government owned company formed with the aim to operate the country's first satellite, the Bangladesh Satellite-1. History Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited was established on 15 August 2017. The company had been authorized a capital of 50 billion BDT and paid capital of five billion BDT. The decision to form the company was approved at a Cabinet of Bangladesh meeting in July 2017. The company is managed by SPARRSO which is the national space agency of Bangladesh.
