Porz Stadtteil Zündorf
Porz () is a borough, or ''Stadtbezirk,'' of Cologne, Germany. It is situated on the east side of the Rhine river in the south-east of the city. Porz is the largest borough of Cologne by area, with 78.92 km2 and has 113,500 inhabitants. Porz borders with the Cologne boroughs of Kalk and Innenstadt to the north, Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis to the east and south, and the Rhine to the west. On the other riverbank lies the Cologne borough of Rodenkirchen. History In 1951 the former independent town of Porz was awarded the town privileges (). In the course of the local government reform in the 1970s in North Rhine-Westphalia, Porz was incorporated with Cologne. Zündorf
Zündorf () is a suburb of Cologne, Germany and part of the district of Porz. Zündorf lies on the right bank of the river Rhine, between Langel and Porz. Zündorf has 12.229 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2008) and covers an area of 8,12 km2. The former village grew from a small trading post with staple rights on the Rhine isle of Groov, which nowadays is a peninsula and popular as a local recreation area with numerous outdoor restaurants as well as a rowing and pedal boat rental station. Rodenkirchener Autobahnbrücke
The Cologne Rodenkirchen Bridge is a steel suspension bridge over the Rhine located in Cologne, Germany.Taylor, R. R. (1974). It was named after the Cologne district of Rodenkirchen. Planning and construction It was built from 1938 to 1941, after the design of Paul Bonatz and the planning of Fritz Leonhardt, for the Autobahn Cologne-Aachen. Today the Bundesautobahn 4 is the southern wing of the Cologne Beltway. On 14 January 1945 an airstrike destroyed the bridge. It was rebuilt from 1952 to 1954, with the old pylons re-used. The old bridge had 6100 tons of steel and the new bridge has only 3350. Bundesautobahn 559
is an autobahn in Germany. The A 559 is a former alignment of the A 59. The A 59 was rerouted in the 1980s to relieve congestion at the Gremberg four-way interchange with the A 4. The primary function of the A 559, besides relieving traffic at the A 4 interchange, is to connect the Cologne-Bonn Airport to Cologne proper. The airport is along the A 59, one junction south of the A 559's southern terminus. The section of road from the junction Köln-Vingst (just after the A 4) to the end of the freeway at Köln-Deutz is up to autobahn standards, but is only designated as the L 124. This stretch of road was signed at one time as the A 559, although the autobahn designation never officially covered the entire freeway. is an autobahn in Germany that starts in Dinslaken and runs with three breaks along Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne to Bonn. In Duisburg it is also the city highway. The Cologne Beltway (German:''Kölner Autobahnring'') is the collective term for the Autobahns encircling Cologne. It consists of the Bundesautobahn 1, the Bundesautobahn 3 and the Bundesautobahn 4. Segments of the beltway handle the highest traffic volume in Germany. The Autobahns on the beltway cross Bundesautobahn 559, Bundesautobahn 555 and Bundesautobahn 57. The Bundesautobahn 59 is tied to the beltway at the interchange Leverkusen-West in the north and to ''Dreieck'' Heumar in the south.
