Porter (band)
Porter is a Mexican indie rock band based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Despite their uncommon sound the band got decent radio airplay on important broadcasting stations, their videos: "Espiral", "Daphne" and "Host of a Ghost" had a good reception in music video channels. "Daphne" was placed in the Telehit's Top Ten videos and, more recently, "Host of a Ghost". (October 2007). The band has overall acceptance among critics & the audience, which often labels their sound as weird, interesting and vanguardish. History Formation, ''Donde los ponys pastan'', and ''Atemahawke'' Porter was formed in May 2004. At the beginning they were an instrumental band, until Juan Son joined the band that same year. Juan Son
Juan Carlos Pereda (born January 24, 1984, in Guadalajara, Mexico) is a Mexican singer and composer of experimental music. He was the vocalist of the alternative rock band Porter and collaborated with Simone Pace (Blonde Redhead) as the drummer for AEIOU. He also performs solo under the pseudonym Juan Son. His musical style is described as "a beautiful concoction of confident lyricism, squeezebox rock, Mexican folk, electronic tinkering, and theatrical dance music." Biography Juan Son, born Juan Carlos Pereda in 1984, started his artistic career in 2001 with Nouveau, a Guadalajara rock band. In 2003, at 19, he sailed off to study at the London Center of Contemporary Music, to return one year later and become part of Porter. Arena VFG
Arena V.F.G. is an indoor arena located in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, part of Guadalajara metropolitan area, Mexico. The arena can accommodate between 3,500 and 15,000 people. It is mainly used for sporting events and concerts. Name The arena is named after Mexican singer Vicente Fernández, using the initials V.F.G. to represent the singer's full name Vicente Fernández Gómez. The arena was used to tribute and say the last good bye to the singer on December 12 and 13, 2021 after his death. Space Rock
Space rock is a music genre characterized by loose and lengthy song structures centered on instrumental textures that typically produce a hypnotic, otherworldly sound. Surrealist music is music which uses unexpected juxtapositions and other surrealist techniques. Discussing Theodor W. Adorno, Max Paddison defines surrealist music as that which "juxtaposes its historically devalued fragments in a montage-like manner which enables them to yield up new meanings within a new aesthetic unity", though Lloyd Whitesell says this is Paddison's gloss of the term.
