Porin Kärpät
Porin Kärpät (Finnish language, Finnish for "Pori Stoat, Ermines") was a multi-sport club based in Pori, Finland. The club was founded in 1932, and disestablished in 1960, but was re-established again in 1990 and disestablished in 2011. Kärpät had sections in ice hockey, association football, football, bandy, rinkball, handball, and basketball. Ice hockey Porin Kärpät established its place in the Suomen sarja, the 2nd level of ice hockey, in the 1950s. In the 1956–57 season, Kärpät won their group and advanced to the SM-sarja qualifiers. Kärpät's opponents were HIFK Hockey, IFK Helsingfors, Kotkan Reipas and KalPa, Kalevan Pallo. Kärpät lost its first game to IFK 5–4, but beat Reipas 5–1. The deciding match was against KalPa. Kärpät already had a 3–0 lead, but the game ended in a 4–4 tie. Kärpät was tied with IFK and KalPa, but fell to 3rd place with goal difference and thus did not get promoted to the SM-sarja. KalPa
Kalevan Pallo (KalPa) is a professional ice hockey team which competes in the Finnish Liiga. They play in Kuopio, Finland at the Niiralan monttu, Olvi Areena. Team history Established in 1929 as ''Sortavalan Palloseura'' in Sortavala, the club relocated to Kuopio in 1945 after its original hometown had been annexed by the Soviet Union. During its Sortavala years, the club was not active in ice hockey, but competed in association football, bandy, and pesäpallo instead. Antero Kivelä
Antero Simo Tapani Kivelä (born 26 December 1955) is a retired Finnish ice hockey goaltender. After his playing career, Kivelä coached several ice hockey, rinkball and ringette teams in Finland. Kivelä is also member of the city council in Pori for the Left Alliance. Kivelä played his entire career for Ässät Pori. He made 58 appearances in the Finland national team and took part at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Kivelä is also the chairman of women's soccer club NiceFutis. Porin Ässät ry is a sports club based in Pori, Finland. The club's only programs are ice hockey and esports, but it used to have an association football program. Porin Ässät ry operates an ice hockey team in the Finnish Elite League. Porin Ässät ry also has junior teams for all age groups from U7 to U20. Porin Ässät ry also operate a women's ice hockey school and the girl's junior ice hockey department while also operating a skating school.
