Popular Front For The Liberation Of Palestine
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP; ) is a secular Palestinian Marxist–Leninist organization founded in 1967 by George Habash. It has consistently been the second-largest of the groups forming the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the largest being Fatah. The PFLP has generally taken a hard line on Palestinian national aspirations, opposing the more moderate stance of Fatah. It does not recognize Israel and promotes a one-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The military wing of the PFLP is called the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades. The PFLP pioneered armed aircraft-hijackings in the late 1960s and early 1970s. More recently, the group has participated in the Gaza war (2023–present) alongside Hamas and other allied Palestinian factions. Ahmad Sa'adat
Ahmad Sa'adat (also transliterated from Arabic as Ahmed Sadat or Saadat; ; born 1953), also known as Abu Ghassan, is a Palestinian militant, and Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist–Leninist Palestinian nationalist organisation. Sa'adat graduated in 1975 from the UNRWA Teachers College, Ramallah, specializing in Mathematics. Sa'adat was elected General Secretary of the PFLP by its Central Committee in October 2001, to succeed Abu Ali Mustafa after his assassination by Israel during the Second Intifada. He has been sentenced to prison terms and held in prison since 2002. Sa'adat had spent many years in Israeli prisons, on eight separate occasions. The Palestinian Joint Operations Room, officially Joint Room for Palestinian Resistance Factions, is a Gaza-based joint front and command institution for the military wings of various Palestinian factions. It includes armed groups from various backgrounds, and ideologies from both the right and the left, including Islamists, socialists, nationalists, and others. The one-state solution is a proposed approach to the Israeli–Palestinian peace process. Jamil Mezher
Jamil Mezher (also transliterated from Arabic as Mazhar, full name Jamil Saleh Abdullah Mezher; ; born 16 July 1964), is a socialist Palestinian militant and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist–Leninist Palestinian nationalist organisation, since 2022. Biography Mezher was born in Gaza in 1964, to a family of refugees that settled in the Nuseirat refugee camp. He joined the PFLP in 1980, when he was 16 years old. He holds a bachelor's degree in administration. For his activities he was detained by Israeli forces twice, once in 1989, and once in 1992.
