Andrae Hugh Sutherland (born 19 July 1988), known professionally as Popcaan, is a Jamaican Toasting (Jamaican music), deejay. In 2008, Popcaan joined Vybz Kartel's Gaza Music Empire. In 2010, he released his breakthrough international hit "Clarks" with Kartel, an ode to the Clarks (shoe retailer), shoe brand. In 2013, Popcaan signed with Mixpak Records and released his debut studio album, ''Where We Come From''. In 2016, Popcaan signed with Canadian rapper Drake (musician), Drake's record label OVO Sound and Warner Records. His second album for Mixpak, entitled Forever (Popcaan album), ''Forever'', was released in 2018. Popcaan's international singles include "Only Man She Want", "Everything Nice", "Ova Dweet", "El Chapo", and "Family". Forever (Popcaan Album)
''Forever'' is the second studio album by Jamaican musician Popcaan. It was released on July 20, 2018 via Mixpak Records. Production was primarily handled by Andrew "Dre Skull" Hershey, who also served as executive producer. It features a sole guest appearance from Davido. In the United States, the album entered the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 at number 171 and reached number 2 on the Reggae Albums chart. Popcaan headlined Reggae Sumfest on the day of the album's release, and toured in support of the album to arenas across the United Kingdom and Canada. Critical reception ''Forever'' was met with generally favorable reviews from critics. ''Where We Come From'' is the debut studio album by Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan, released on 10 June 2014 by Mixpak Records. A prolific dancehall artist from Jamaica, Popcaan collaborated with several producers on the album: Dre Skull (who also served as the album's Executive Producer), Dubbel Dutch, Anju Blaxx, Jaime YVP and Adde Instrumentals. Mixpak Records is a Brooklyn-based independent record label, founded in 2009 by record producer Dre Skull. The label operates across a range of genres, from dancehall to underground club music, experimental electronic, rap and leftfield pop. Dancehall is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1970s. David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992), known professionally as Davido, is a Nigerian American, Nigerian-American singer, songwriter and record producer.
