Nikšić Municipality
Nikšić (Serbo-Croatian: Opština Nikšić / Општина Никшић) is one of the municipalities of Montenegro. The municipality is located in the central and northwestern region of Montenegro. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Nikšić. Geography and location Nikšić has the largest land area of any municipality in Montenegro (covering 15% of Montenegro), and includes 129 settlements. It was also the largest municipality by land area in Socialist Yugoslavia. The town of Nikšić is situated in north-central Montenegro. It is located at the centre of the spacious ''Nikšić Field'' (''Nikšićko polje''), a karst plain with an area of 48 km2, and an elevation of 640 m AMSL. Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+02:00), sometimes referred to as Central European Daylight Time (CEDT), is the standard clock time observed during the period of summer daylight-saving in those European countries which observe Central European Time (CET; UTC+01:00) during the other part of the year.
