''Plantão da Globo'' is the title of the breaking news segment of TV Globo that, normally, interrupts the programming of the broadcaster to report last-minute news that have some importance to society. In accordance with the original format, it is produced and presented by journalists that are on duty in the broadcaster and that are called for that specific purpose. The title sequence consists of a 3D animation of several news microphones and cameras orbiting around, and then flying towards the screen, with the ''Plantão'' theme music playing along. Due to the relatively rare occurrence of this format (normally seen only a few times a year), the alarming music, and the wide cultural association of ''Plantão'' breaking news title with shocking events or disasters, it is largely feared by Brazilian viewers. Cesare Battisti (born 18 December 1954) is an Italian former member of the terrorist group Armed Proletarians for Communism (PAC), who is currently imprisoned after years on the run. PAC was a far-left militant group active in Italy in the late 1970s during the period known as the " Years of Lead". Battisti was sentenced to life imprisonment in Italy for four homicides (two policemen, a jeweller and a butcher). He fled first to France in 1981, where he received protection under the Mitterrand doctrine. TAM Airlines Flight 3054 was a regularly scheduled domestic passenger flight operated by LATAM Brasil, TAM Airlines from Porto Alegre to São Paulo, Brazil.
