Jam Rahuoja Rostron (born 25 January 1972), known by their stage name Planningtorock, is an English electronic music, electronic musician and record producer who lives in Tallinn, Estonia. Rostron is transgender and non-binary, and uses singular they, they/them and He (pronoun), he/him pronouns. Career 2004–2005 In 2004, Rostron launched their label Rostron Records with Planningtorock's EP ''Eins'', following it in 2005 with a compilation LP'' Carousel of Souls'' that featured songs from The Knife and The Soft Pink Truth. DFA Records is an American independent record label based in New York City. The label was originally founded in 2001 by Tim Goldsworthy, musician James Murphy (electronic musician), James Murphy, and manager Jonathan Galkin. Goldsworthy and Murphy were formerly a production team called The DFA until Goldsworthy's relocation to the UK. The Knife
The Knife were a Swedish electronic music duo from Gothenburg, formed in 1999. The group consisted of siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records. They gained a large international following in response to their 2003 album '' Deep Cuts''. The duo's first tour took place in 2006, along with the release of their critically acclaimed album '' Silent Shout''. Matthew Sims, commonly known by his stage name Mount Sims (or Mt. Sims), is a Berlin-based American DJ, performance artist, and producer. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sims began his career in the local music scene. Sims was involved in several groups, the most notable of which was Citizen King, an alternative rock band famous for their 1999 hit " Better Days (And the Bottom Drops Out)", which reached #25 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. However, Citizen King disbanded by 2002 for undisclosed reasons. Around the same time, Sims relocated to Los Angeles, where he continued his music career as a solo artist. Chicks on Speed is a feminist art music ensemble, formed in Munich in 1997 at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Though Chicks on Speed reached cult status throughout the 2000s and became most well known as catalysts of the musical genre electroclash, the band performs as a multidisciplinary art group working in performance art, electronic dance music, collage graphics, textile design, fashion, musical instrument design, artistic research and art education.
