Pippa Hackett
Pippa Hackett is an Irish Green Party politician who has served as a Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine since June 2020. She is one of three Ministers of State in attendance at cabinet, but without a vote. She has been a Senator for the Agricultural Panel since November 2019. Political career She joined the Green Party in around 2016, upon the recommendation of a neighbour of hers, Christopher Fettes, the party founder. She is a former member of Offaly County Council. She was elected unopposed, as a Senator for the Agricultural Panel in a by-election on 1 November 2019. The vacancy was caused by the election of Senator Grace O'Sullivan to the European Parliament in May 2019. She was an unsuccessful Green party candidate for the Laois–Offaly constituency at the 2020 general election, being eliminated at the final count with 4,255 votes. Seanad Éireann (, ; " Senate of Ireland") is the upper house of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (the lower house). Grace O'Sullivan
Grace O'Sullivan (born 8 March 1962) is an Irish politician who has been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Ireland for the South constituency since July 2019. She is a member of the Green Party, part of the European Green Party. She previously served as a Senator for the Agricultural Panel from 2016 to 2019. O'Sullivan is also known for her activism during a 20-year career with Greenpeace having served on the crew of the Rainbow Warrior when it was bombed in New Zealand in 1985 by French Intelligence. She is a former Irish surfing champion and has worked for a number of years as an environmental education specialist and ecologist. Ballindine
Ballindine () is a village in County Mayo, Ireland. It is located along the Western Railway Corridor, 6.5 km (4 miles) south of Claremorris. The N17 road passes through the village, carrying over 10,000 vehicles daily, and it connects to the R328 road on the south side of town. History The remains of a possible fort are located in a field next to the National School. Folklore states that Ballindine got its name from this fort—''Baile an Daingin'' meaning "Town of the Fortress" and that the souterrain, just outside it, was connected underground to the ruins of the old church in Cloonmore about 2 km (1.25 miles) to the east and also to the ruins of the old church in Garryduff, 5 km (3 miles) west. Hazel Chu (born 3 November 1980) is an Irish Green Party politician who has been a member of Dublin City Council since May 2019. She was elected Cathaoirleach (Chairperson) of the Irish Green Party in December 2019, and was succeeded by Senator Pauline O'Reilly in December 2021.
