Pilar Pérez
Pilar Pérez (born 22 September 1973) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography Pérez, who began competing on the ITF circuit in the 1989 season, was the Orange Bowl (tennis), Orange Bowl champion in 1990, becoming the first Spanish female to win the prestigious junior tournament. As a 16-year old she featured in two Federation Cup ties for Spain, as the doubles partner of Conchita Martínez. Pérez and Martinez were beaten in both matches. This included the deciding rubber of the 1990 World Group semifinal against the USSR, as a replacement for Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, who was injured during her singles match. She played only briefly on the WTA Tour, from 1990 to 1991. At the 1991 Mediterranean Games, Pérez won a silver in the singles and a bronze in the doubles event. Mediterranean Games
The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. The first Mediterranean Games were held in 1951 in Alexandria, Egypt, while the most recent games were held in 2022 in Oran, Algeria. Elena Alexandrovna Likhovtseva ( ; born 8 September 1975) is a Kazakhstani-born Russian former tennis player. She turned professional in January 1992, at the age of 16. Together with Mahesh Bhupathi she won the Wimbledon Mixed doubles in 2002 and the Australian Open mixed-doubles championship with Daniel Nestor in 2007. She also was runner-up in a number of other contests, including the 2000 and 2004 US Open – Women's doubles, the French Open mixed doubles in 2003, the Australian Open women's doubles in 2004, the French Open mixed doubles in 2006. Luanne Spadea-Nachmann (born December 28, 1972) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Spadea, who grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, is the elder sister of tennis player Vince Spadea. Her mother Hilda is Colombian and she is of Italian descent on her father's side. While still a junior she began competing in WTA Tour main draws late in 1987, aged 14. In 1989, Spadea was the Orange Bowl (18 & Under) champion, her third Orange Bowl title, having earlier won the event in the 12s and 14s age divisions. She won her first ITF title in 1990 in Key Biscayne, an $25,000 event. On the WTA Tour, she achieved her biggest success as a doubles player, reaching a career-high doubles ranking of 98 in the world. Silvia Ramón-Cortés Montaner (born 9 August 1972) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. Biography A right-handed player from Barcelona, Ramón-Cortés represented the Spanish national team as a junior and was runner-up to countrywoman Pilar Pérez in the Orange Bowl (tennis), 1990 Orange Bowl. Ramón-Cortés reached a highest singles ranking of 125 on the professional tour. Her biggest title win was a $25k tournament in Vigo in 1994. On the WTA Tour, she was a quarterfinalist at the 1995 Styrian Open and also made the round of 16 that year at Amelia Island, beating world No. 39, Miriam Oremans en route. She retired from pro circuit in 1996 and now works as a communications consultant. The WTA Tour (also known as the Hologic WTA Tour for sponsorship reasons) is a worldwide top-tier tennis tour for women and organized by the Women's Tennis Association. The second-tier tour is the WTA 125 series, and third-tier is the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. The men's equivalent is the ATP Tour.
