Pierrefonds-Senneville () is a former Montreal borough in the West Island area of Montreal, Quebec. It was formed by forced merger on January 1, 2002. After Senneville voted on June 20, 2004 to demerge from Montreal and returned to being an independent municipality on January 1, 2006, the Pierrefonds sector was merged with Roxboro to create the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro. Pierrefonds () is a former city in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is located along the Rivière des Prairies on the western shore of the southern part of the Island of Montreal (part of what is colloquially called the West Island). Roxboro, Quebec
Roxboro () was a city on the Island of Montreal. It was founded in 1914, and ceased to exist on 1 January 2002 as a result of municipal reorganization in Quebec. The town was located along the Rivière des Prairies. At the time of the merger with Montreal, its population was 6,000. Geography The area north of the train tracks was subject to many floods. Roxboro Island In 1974 the town of Roxboro decided to purchase the island (Lot 311) at the North end of 5th Avenue North and paid $46,130.36 to the former owner in a court expropriation decision . Pierrefonds-Roxboro () is a borough of the city of Montreal. It was created January 1, 2006, following the demerger of parts of the city. Geography It is composed of the former municipalities of Pierrefonds and Roxboro, spanning the northern part of the West Island. Besides its land borders with the borough of L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève, as well as the boroughs of Saint-Laurent and Ahuntsic-Cartierville to the east, it borders the municipalities of Senneville, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Kirkland, and Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
