Tunç Başaran
Tunç Başaran (October 1, 1938 – December 18, 2019) was a Turkish people, Turkish screenwriter, film director, film producer and actor. Biography After attending the Faculty of Literature for a while he left school and started working as a script writer for the director Memduh Ün. He then continued to be the assistant of Memduh Ün for a long time. Meanwhile, he also worked as assistant for such directors as Ömer Lütfi Akad, Halit Refiğ, Atıf Yılmaz, Ertem Göreç. In 1964 he directed his first feature ''Survival''. By 1962, he had directed about 40 films. After 1972, he switched to commercials. He directed ''Don't Let Them Shoot The Kite'' in 1989. Yaman Okay (24 August 1951 – 19 February 1993) was a Turkish actor. He won the 1981 Golden Orange Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in ''On Fertile Lands''. Turkey has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film on a regular basis since 1989. Prior to that, they also sent a single film ('' Dry Summer'') in the 1960s after it won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. The Oscar is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non- English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. This is the list of the films submitted in 1992 to compete for the 65th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country.
