Philippe Wilmès
Philippe Wilmès (4 March 1938 – 24 May 2010) was a Belgian banker, businessman, and professor. Early life Wilmès was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in the bombing of Limal during World War II. He was raised by his grandparents in Luxembourg. Wilmès joined the merchant marine to fund his interest in mountaineering, serving for seven years as a sailor and then as an officer. He also taught climbing at ADEPS, and subsequently studied law at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain). Career Wilmès worked at the Compagnie Maritime Belge for a period and then returned to UCLouvain as an assistant lecturer. He later spent a year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and lectured in Great Britain and Canada. Cercle De Lorraine
The ''Cercle de Lorraine'' ( French) or ''Club van Lotharingen'' ( Dutch) was a Belgian business club, located in Brussels. The club was founded in 1998 to bring together distinguished and representative personalities from the Belgian financial community, both French-speaking (Walloons) as well as Dutch-speaking ( Flemish), who were united within an honorary committee. Walloons ( ; ; ) are a Gallo-Romance ethnic group native to Wallonia and the immediate adjacent regions of Flanders, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Fluxys is a Belgium-based company, mainly acting as a natural gas transmission system operator. In 2004, it employed around 850 people and its infrastructure comprised about of pipelines and a terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium. The company is listed on Euronext Brussels market. History The company was created in 2001 from the breakup of Distrigas into two entities (the other entity has kept the name Distrigas).
