Adriane Fugh-Berman is a professor in the department of pharmacology and physiology, and in the department of family medicine, at Georgetown University Medical Center. Many countries have measures in place to limit advertising by pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical company spending on marketing generally exceeds that of its research budget.
