Peyton Hemp
Peyton Hemp (born May 15, 2003) is an American college ice hockey player for Minnesota. She was named the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association National Rookie of the Year in 2022. Early life Hemp attended Andover High School in Andover, Minnesota. During her junior year she recorded 20 goals and 22 assists, and helped lead the Huskies to their first ever Class AA state championship in 2020. During her senior season, she recorded 34 goals and 46 assists, as she helped lead the Huskies back to the Minnesota State High School League Class AA state championship for the second straight season. Her 46 assists and 80 points are a single-season program record at Andover. She finished her career as Andover's all-time leading scorer with 253 career points. Andover is a city in Anoka County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 32,601 at the 2020 census. The annual NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament is a college ice hockey tournament held in the United States by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to determine the top men's team in Division I. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. Vermont Catamounts Women's Ice Hockey
The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts compete in Hockey East. Their first year of varsity women's hockey was in 1998–99. The Catamounts were in the ECAC at the Division III level of competition. In 2001–02, the Catamounts moved up to Division I. For the 2005–06 season, the Catamounts moved to Hockey East. 2025 PWHL Draft
The 2025 PWHL Draft was the third annual draft in Professional Women's Hockey League history, and took place on June 24, 2025, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Kristýna Kaltounková was selected first overall by the New York Sirens. Eligibility The declaration period for the draft opened on March 1, 2024, and closed on May 8. Undrafted players will become free agents; players must declare for the draft to reach free agency. Selected players may re-enter the draft if they are not signed to their draft club after two years. No player may declare for more than two drafts. Players ineligible to play in the 2025–26 season are not eligible to be selected. On May 15, 2025, the PWHL released the full list of eligible players. The Ottawa Charge (French language, French: ''Charge d'Ottawa'') are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa that competes in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).
