Drochia District
Drochia district (), also known as Drokievsky district, is a district in the north of Moldova. Its administrative center is the city of Drochia. As of 2011, its population was 90,100. History The oldest historical attestations about the settlements in the district from the period 1443 to 1470 when the mentioned villages Cotova, Hasnasenii Mari, Mindic. In the next century of growth followed both economic, cultural and demographic explosion, shown by the fact that 11 villages in the district had 3,000 inhabitants. After the Treaty of Bucharest in 1812, Bessarabia as Drochia district are occupied by the Russian Empire at this time there is a massive colonization by Ukrainians and Russians. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. It is used as a summer daylight saving time in some European and Middle Eastern countries, which makes it the same as Arabia Standard Time, East Africa Time, and Moscow Time. 2004 Moldovan Census
The 2004 Moldovan census was carried out between October 5 and October 12, 2004. The breakaway Transnistria failed to come into an agreement with the central government in Chişinău, and carried out its own census between November 11 and November 18, 2004. The results of the census in Transnistria were put into question. Moldova's previous census was performed in 1989, when the territory of the country was part of the former Soviet Union. The census was delayed several times and had difficulties because of political problems, ethnic tensions, and a lack of financial resources. Eugeniu Știrbu (born August 8, 1945, in Petreni) is a politician from Moldova. Biography Eugeniu Știrbu served as a member of the Parliament of Moldova (1998–2001). He was the General Secretary of Democratic Party of Moldova. Eugeniu Știrbu has been the chairman of the Central Election Commission since November 11, 2005. On June 21, 2010, Știrbu was arrested as he was crossing the Kuchurgan checkpoint on his way from Odessa Airport to Chișinău, after a flight to Poland, where he had observed the presidential poll. Taken to Tiraspol, Știrbu learned that the separatist authorities had initiated criminal proceedings against him in 2007 for organizing elections in the much-disputed village of Corjova, Dubăsari.
