Petr Hladík (politician)
Petr Hladík (born 28 September 1984) is a Czech Republic, Czech politician who has served as Ministry of the Environment (Czech Republic), Czech Minister of the Environment in the Cabinet of Petr Fiala since March 2023. He served as the deputy chairman of KDU-ČSL from 2019 Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party leadership election, March 2019 to 2024 KDU–ČSL leadership election, October 2024. From 2016 until 2023, Hladík was deputy mayor of Brno. He previously served as chairman of the Young Populars from 2012 until 2015. Political career 2010s In the 2010 Czech municipal elections, Hladík was elected as a KDU-ČSL representative of the Brno-sever district, and became a district council member the following month. He also ran for KDU-ČSL in the Brno city council elections, but was not elected. The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic () is a government Ministry (government department), ministry established in 1990. It is the highest body for nature and environmental protection in the Czech Republic. History This ministry was established in 1990, before which the environment was divided between the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Forestry and Water Management (within the Czech Socialist Republic). Before the Velvet Revolution, the Ministry of the Interior was briefly called MVŽP—the Ministry of the Interior and the Environment. 2022 Czech Municipal Elections
Municipal elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 September 2022. Campaign Mayors and Independents (STAN) STAN launched the spring phase of its campaign on 19 April 2022. Party leader Vít Rakušan called it a "key election" and the party thus chose a Key as a symbol for the party campaign. Rakušan stated that the party wants to show smart and inspirative solutions from experience. The party also introduced the "I want to run" ("Chci kandidovat") project, which aims to help people enter politics. Czech Radio
Czech Radio (, ČRo) is the public radio broadcaster of the Czech Republic operating continuously since 1923. It is the oldest national radio broadcaster in continental Europe and the second-oldest in Europe after the BBC. Czech Radio was established in 1992 by the Czech Radio Act, which sets out the framework for its operation and finance. It acts as the successor to the previous state-owned Czechoslovak Radio which ceased to exist by 1992. The service broadcasts throughout the Czech Republic nationally and locally. ''Deník'' is a regional daily newspaper in the Czech Republic. History Originally owned by German publishing company Verlagsgruppe Passau (VGP), ''Deník'' has been owned by Penta Investments since 2015. VGP has a monopoly on the Czech regional press. In September 2006, regional newspapers across the Czech Republic were rebranded to ''Deník'' with a regional adjective appended, including ''Pražský deník'' (). Apart from the Prague-based version, further 72 regional newspapers were branded as part of this launch. 2018 Brno Municipal Election
Brno municipal election in 2018 was held as part of 2018 Czech municipal elections. ANO 2011 led by incumbent Mayor Petr Vokřál received highest number of votes being followed by Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party (ODS). ODS formed coalition with KDU-ČSL, Czech Social Democratic Party, ČSSD and Czech Pirate Party, Pirates after the election. Markéta Vaňková of ODS became the new Mayor. Background Previous election was held in 2014. It was a victory for ANO 2011. A protest party called Žít Brno was also successful. Žít Brno is inspired by Icelandic Best Party. 2014 European Parliament Election In The Czech Republic
European Parliament elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 May 2014. In total, 21 Member of the European Parliament, Members of the European Parliament were elected using proportional representation (single district D'Hondt with a 5% threshold). 2013 Czech Parliamentary Election
Early parliamentary elections were held in the Czech Republic on 25 and 26 October 2013, seven months before the constitution of the Czech Republic, constitutional expiry of the elected Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, parliament's four-year legislative term. The government 2010 Czech legislative election, elected in May 2010 led by Prime Minister Petr Nečas was forced to resign on 17 June 2013, after a corruption and bribery scandal. Elections to regional councils in the Czech Republic in 13 regions (except Prague) were held on 7 and 8 October 2016.
