Petr Franěk
Petr Franěk (born 6 April 1975 in Most (city), Most) is a Czechs, Czech former ice hockey goaltender. Career Franěk was drafted in the 8th round, 205th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, but never played in the National Hockey League. He played in North America in the International Hockey League (1945–2001), International Hockey League for the Quebec Rafales, Utah Grizzlies and the Las Vegas Thunder and also spent two seasons in the American Hockey League for the Hershey Bears. He then moved to Germany to play one season with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers before moving back to the Czech Republic where he played for HC Energie Karlovy Vary and HC Slavia Praha. He joined the Iserlohn Roosters in 2006, serving as a backup to Dimitrij Kotschnew. From 2007 until end of his career in 2014, he played for the HC Litvínov of the Czech Extraliga. Nürnberg Ice Tigers
The Nürnberg Ice Tigers are a professional ice hockey club located in Nuremberg, Germany. They play in the country's premier league, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. History The roots of the team can be traced back to SG Nürnberg, an ice hockey club that played in the 2nd Bundesliga (ice hockey), 2nd Bundesliga from 1958 until it was closed down in 1980 due to financial issues. Today's team was founded in 1980 as EHC Nürnberg 1980 e.V., as a non-profit organization. Play started in 1980–81 in the Bavarian state ice-hockey league (). Las Vegas Thunder
The Las Vegas Thunder were a professional ice hockey team competing in the International Hockey League. The team's home rink was at the Thomas & Mack Center. They began play in the 1993–1994 season, folding on April 18, 1999. The demise of the franchise was precipitated by the refusal of UNLV officials to negotiate with team owners regarding a new agreement to continue playing at the Thomas & Mack Center after the 1998–1999 season. Without a facility that was suitable even for temporary use, the Thunder were forced to shut down. Brantford ( 2021 population: 104,688) is a city in Ontario, Canada, founded on the Grand River in Southwestern Ontario. It is surrounded by Brant County but is politically separate with a municipal government of its own that is fully independent of the county's municipal government. Brantford is situated on the Haldimand Tract, and is named after Joseph Brant, a Mohawk leader, soldier, farmer and slave owner. Czech Extraliga
The Czech Extraliga () is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It was created in 1993 following the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia midway through the 1992–93 Czechoslovak Extraliga season (which all Slovak and Czech teams played to completion). The league's season usually takes place between September and April and features 14 teams. Teams from the ELH participate in the IIHF's annual European tournament in the CHL. During the 2022–23 CHL season, the ELH was ranked the No. 5 league in Europe, allowing them to send their top three teams to compete in the CHL. Dimitrij Kotschnew
Dimitrij Kotschnew (born July 15, 1981) is a Kazakhstani-born German former professional ice hockey goaltender. Kotschnew played six seasons for the Iserlohn Roosters over two spells. From 2004 to 2007, he served as their starting goaltender. He has also played in the Kontinental Hockey League. He returned to Germany in 2012, signing for the Hamburg Freezers. Iserlohn Roosters
The Iserlohn Roosters are a professional ice hockey team based in Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia. They are members of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) since 2000 and play their home games at the Balver-Zinn Arena which is also known as ''Eissporthalle am Seilersee''. The team made the playoffs three times in its first 15 seasons in the DEL. The Roosters are widely regarded for their fans and having one of the best atmospheres at home games in Europe despite having an arena capacity for just 4,967 spectators.
