Petersfield (UK Parliament Constituency)
Petersfield was an England, English United Kingdom constituencies, Parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Petersfield in Hampshire. It existed for several hundred years until its abolition for the 1983 United Kingdom general election, 1983 general election. Until 1832, it returned two Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Members of Parliament to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Thereafter, its representation was reduced to one member until its abolition in 1983. George Rithe

Richard Weston (MP For Petersfield)
Richard Weston (1564-1613) was MP for Petersfield in the 1593 parliament. Life Weston was the son of Henry Weston (politician) by his first wife Dorothy, daughter of Thomas Arundell of Wardour Castle. He inherited the borough of Petersfield from his father in 1592 and returned himself as its MP the following year. In 1597 he sold the borough to Thomas Hanbury. He was at Cadiz with the Earl of Essex in 1596, from whom he received a knighthood and was probably the commander of The Swan on the voyage. Walter Covert
Sir Walter Covert (c. 1544 – 27 January 1632) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons several times during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Covert was the eldest surviving son of Richard Covert of Slaugham, Sussex. He was educated at Gray's Inn in 1567. He was knighted in 1591. He was appointed High Sheriff of Surrey and Sussex for 1583–84 and 1592–93. Sir Benjamin Tichborne, 1st Baronet
Sir Benjamin Tichborne, 1st Baronet (c. 1542 – 6 September 1621) was an English landowner, courtier and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1588 and 1593. Biography Tichborne was the son of Nicholas Tichborne, of Tichborne, Hampshire and his second wife Elizabeth Rythe, sister of James Rythe. He was Sheriff of Hampshire from 1579 to 1580. In 1588, he was elected Member of Parliament for Petersfield. He was elected MP for Hampshire in 1593. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth at Tichborne when she was on her way to Basing in 1601. He was Sheriff of Hampshire again from 1602 to 1603 in which capacity he proclaimed the accession of James I in March 1603 at Winchester. He was Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to King James, who visited Tichborne on several occasions, and gave him the Castle of Winchester in fee farm. He was created baronet on 8 March 1621. Edward Radclyffe, 6th Earl Of Sussex
Edward Radclyffe, 6th Earl of Sussex (c. 1559 – August 1643) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1586 and 1611 and later succeeded to a peerage. Biography Radclyffe was the son of Sir Humphrey Radclyffe and his wife Isabel Harvey. He was the grandson of Robert Radcliffe, 1st Earl of Sussex and Elizabeth Stafford, Countess of Sussex. In 1586, he was elected Member of Parliament for Petersfield. He was elected MP for Bedfordshire in 1588 and for Portsmouth in 1593. He was elected MP for Bedfordshire again in 1597, 1601 and 1604. He was appointed Sheriff of Bedfordshire in 1598. Radclyffe was knighted around 1594 and inherited the earldom from his cousin Robert Radclyffe, 5th Earl of Sussex in 1629. Ralph Bourchier
Sir Ralph Bourchier (c. 1531 – 11 June 1598) was an English landowner, administrator and politician. He was the son of James Bourchier of Haughton and Mary, heiress of her brother John Bannister. His grandfather was John Bourchier, 2nd Baron Berners. In 1556 he inherited estates in Yorkshire from his uncle, John Bannister, on which he built Beningbrough Hall (since rebuilt in 1716). He was appointed keeper of Rochester Castle in 1559. He was elected to Parliament in 1571 and 1572 as MP for Newcastle-under-Lyme. He was subsequently returned for Newport, Isle of Wight in 1584, and Scarborough in 1586, and as knight of the shire for Yorkshire. He served as sheriff of Yorkshire in 1580 and was knighted in 1584. He died in 1598 and was buried in Barking, Essex.
