Peter V. Brett
Peter V. Brett (born February 8, 1973) is an American fantasy novelist. He is the author of the ''Demon Cycle'', whose first volume was published in the UK by HarperCollins's Voyager imprint in 2008 as '' The Painted Man'' and in the US by Del Rey Books as ''The Warded Man''. Early life Peter Brett studied English Literature and Art History at the University at Buffalo, graduating in 1995. He then spent more than ten years working in the pharmaceutical publication field before writing full-time. He developed an interest in fantasy from an early age. Career Brett wrote his 2008 novel '' The Painted Man'' (''The Warded Man'' in the US) and much of his second novel on his HP iPaq 6515 while on the New York City subway. The novel takes place on a formerly advanced civilization world that has now been reduced to a dark age by the attacks of demons known as Corelings. Phoenix Fan Fusion (formerly Phoenix Comicon and Phoenix Comic Fest) is a speculative fiction entertainment and comic book convention held annually in Phoenix, Arizona. It was founded as the Phoenix Cactus Comicon in June 2002, and originally consisted of a one-day six-hour event held in Ahwatukee, Arizona, Ahwatukee, Arizona. The convention plays host to comic related panels, programming events, art contests, and autograph signings for all ages. It is a three-day event (Friday-Sunday) held during the summer at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix. GRIM (Groupe de recherche et d'improvisation musicales, roughly translated Group of Research and Musical Innovation), was a non-profit organization for improvised and experimental music. The GRIM was based at the Montévidéo, a cultural centre in Marseille, France. ''Unfettered'' is a fantasy anthology edited by Shawn Speakman, featuring 23 short stories contributed by various best-selling authors in the fantasy genre. The book was released on 21 June 2013 by Grim Oak Press. The artwork for the book was done by Todd Lockwood. On 4 May 2015, Speakman announced the release of ''Unfettered II'', with short stories from at least 15 best-selling fantasy and science-fiction authors. The book was published on 21 November 21, 2016, with the proceeds to be used to alleviate the medical debts of other authors and artists.
