Peter Krečič
Peter Krečič (born 24 June 1947) is a Slovenian historian of art and architecture, born in Ljubljana. He is a specialist on the life and work of architect Jože Plečnik, and has published numerous books on this topic, including ''Plecnik:The Complete Works'' and ''Plecnik's Ljubljana.'' Jože Plečnik
Jože Plečnik () (23 January 1872 – 7 January 1957) was a Slovenian architect who had a major impact on the modern architecture of Vienna, Prague and of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, most notably by designing the iconic Triple Bridge and the Slovenian National and University Library building, as well as the embankments along the Ljubljanica River, the Ljubljana Central Market buildings, the Ljubljana cemetery, parks, plazas. His architectural imprint on Ljubljana has been compared to the impact Antoni Gaudí had on Barcelona. His style is associated with the Vienna Secession style of architecture (a type of Art Nouveau), but he also has influences from the baroque tradition in Slovenia, as well as Byzantine and early eighteenth century Viennese architecture. Jela Krečič Žižek (; born February 26, 1979) is a Slovenian writer and journalist. Personal life and education Jela Krečič born on 26 February 1979. After graduating from grammar school, she enrolled in the study of cultural studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. She graduated in 2002 at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana; in 2009, under the mentorship of Mladen Dolar, she earned a PhD in philosophy from the Faculty of Arts. Her father is the architectural historian Peter Krečič. She has been married to Slavoj Žižek since 2013.
