Petar Popović (basketball, Born 1959)
Petar Popović ( sr-cyr, Петар Поповић; born 13 July 1959) is a Croatian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career Popović played for Zadar in the Yugoslav First League (later Croatian League) for 18 seasons. In 1993 he moved to Zagreb where he signed with Benston of the Croatian League. National team career Popović was a member of the Yugoslavia national team, alongside Krešimir Ćosić, Dragan Kićanović, Dražen Dalipagić and Mirza Delibašić, that won the silver medal at the EuroBasket 1981 held in Czechoslovakia. Over six tournament games, he averaged 2.3 points per game. Also, he won the bronze medal at the 1978 European Championship for Juniors in Italy where he averaged 10 points per game. The 1994 FIBA World Championship was the 12th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Canada from August 4 to 14, 1994. The Croatia men's national basketball team () represents Croatia in international basketball matches. The team is controlled by the Croatian Basketball Federation (HKS). The biggest success Croatia has achieved was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when the team reached the final against the United States and won the silver medal. Marko Popović (born 12 June 1982) is a Croatian basketball executive and former professional basketball player. Standing at a height of , he played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. He currently serves as a sporting director for Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League. Early life Born in Zadar, Popović is the son of Petar, a retired basketball player and present-day coach. Mirza Delibašić
Mirza Delibašić (9 January 1954 – 8 December 2001) was a Bosnian professional basketball player and coach. Delibašić was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991. He was enshrined into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2008, he was named one of the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors. He is widely considered one of the best shooters in the history of European basketball. Dražen Dalipagić
Dražen "Praja" Dalipagić (; 27 November 1951 – 25 January 2025) was a Serbian professional basketball player and head coach. He was selected the best athlete of Yugoslavia in the year 1978, and is one of the most decorated athletes in Yugoslavian history. He was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991. Dalipagić was enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2004, and into the FIBA Hall of Fame, also as a player, in 2007.
