Perry Bamonte
Perry Archangelo Bamonte (born 3 September 1960) is an English musician and artist, best known as a guitarist/keyboardist for The Cure from 1990 to 2005, and again since 2022. He is also the bassist of Love Amongst Ruin. Biography Bamonte was born in London, England. His younger brother Daryl worked as a tour manager for The Cure and Depeche Mode, and via this connection Perry joined the Cure's road crew in 1984. He eventually became the guitar technician and personal assistant for group leader Robert Smith. Already a guitarist, during this period Bamonte was taught to play piano and keyboards by Smith's sister Janet. When keyboardist Roger O'Donnell left the Cure in 1990, Bamonte was promoted to a full member of the band, playing both keyboards and guitar regularly, as well as six-string bass and percussion occasionally. The Cure
The Cure are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Crawley in 1976 by Robert Smith (musician), Robert Smith (vocals, guitar) and Lol Tolhurst (drums). The band's current line-up comprises Smith, Perry Bamonte (guitar and keyboards), Reeves Gabrels (guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Roger O'Donnell (keyboards), and Jason Cooper (drums). ''Songs of a Lost World'' is the fourteenth studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 1 November 2024 via Fiction, Lost Music, Universal, Polydor, and Capitol Records. It is the band's first release of new material in 16 years since the release of '' 4:13 Dream'' in 2008. All the songs on the album were composed solely by singer/guitarist Robert Smith, for the first time since the 1985 album ''The Head on the Door''. ''The Cure'' is the twelfth studio album by English rock band of the same name, released on 25 June 2004. It would be the band's first studio album released on Geffen Records. The album was entirely co-produced by American producer Ross Robinson and frontman Robert Smith and spawned the single " The End of the World". Production and content Robinson had previously worked with rock and heavy metal bands such as Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, At the Drive-In, Glassjaw and the Blood Brothers. This may have contributed to the songs on the album being heavier than previous material by the band. Smith described the record as "Cure heavy", as opposed to " new-metal heavy". ''Greatest Hits'' is a greatest hits album by English rock band the Cure. It was first released in Japan on 7 November 2001, before being released in the UK and Europe on 12 November and then in the US the day after. The band's relationship with longtime label Fiction Records came to a close, and the Cure were obliged to release one final album for the label. Lead singer Robert Smith agreed to release a greatest hits album under the condition that he could choose the tracks himself. The band also recorded a special studio album released as a bonus disc to some versions of the album. The disc, titled ''Acoustic Hits'', consists of the eighteen songs from the North American release re-recorded using acoustic instruments. ''Bloodflowers'' is the eleventh studio album by English rock band The Cure. It was first released in Japan on 2 February 2000, before being released in the UK and Europe on 14 February 2000 and then the day after in the US by Fiction Records and Polydor Records. ''Wild Mood Swings'' is the tenth studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 6 May 1996 by Fiction Records. The album charted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart, staying on chart for six weeks, and number 12 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. However, the album was the lowest-selling Cure album in 12 years, and it marked the beginning of a downward trend in the Cure's future album sales. Four singles were released from the album, the first being " The 13th", released in 22 April 1996, followed by " Mint Car" released on 17 June, " Strange Attraction" released in United States on 8 October and " Gone!" released in Europe on 2 December 1996. ''Show'' is a live album released in 1993 by the British alternative rock band the Cure. It was recorded live over two nights at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) in 1992, during the successful ''Wish'' tour. ''Show'' was also released as a concert video. This live album was released along with ''Paris'', which was recorded in Paris. ''Show'' leaned somewhat more towards the band's poppier and more recent material such as " Just Like Heaven", " Pictures of You" and "Friday I'm in Love" while ''Paris'' skewed towards their older cult-classics.
