Perlas Spikers
The Perlas Spikers, also earlier known as the BanKo Perlas Spikers, were a professional women's volleyball team playing in the Premier Volleyball League. The team was owned by the Beach Volleyball Republic. History The team debuted in the 2017 season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). On January 12, 2022, the team announced it was taking a leave of absence from the 2022 PVL Open Conference due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is the top-level professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines organized by the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The PVL was established in 2004 as the inter-collegiate Shakey's V-League (SVL) until it rebranded to the current entity in 2017. Prior to becoming a full-fledged professional league in 2021, the PVL was open to participation of corporate owned semi-professional clubs and non-collegiate teams backed by local governments. The PVL previously operated men's and collegiate divisions before they were spun-off into Spikers' Turf and the V-League (Philippines), V-League, respectively, both are also operated by Sports Vision. The Creamline Cool Smashers are the most successful team with ten titles, which included the league's only Grand Slam in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League season, 2024 season. Nicole Anne Tiamzon
Nicole Anne Zapanta Tiamzon (born November 3, 1995) is a Filipina professional volleyball player. Personal life Tiamzon, a Taytay, Rizal-native volleybelle, started playing when she was 10, and started competing in her second year of high school in Siena College of Taytay. She tried out for the Lady Maroons volleyball team of the University of the Philippines and got accepted. She graduated with a degree in Sports Science. Advocacy Tiamzon founded the Spike and Serve in 2017, a non-profit grassroots volleyball development program where they teach the underprivileged kids to play volleyball, and organizing community-based leagues where they can compete. Dzi Gervacio
Angeline Marie Gervacio, also known as Dzi Gervacio, is a Filipino volleyball player. She is a former Ateneo Lady Eagles player and is the team manager for the Nxled Chameleons. She is known as the Queen of Jump Serve. Early life and education Gervacio attended St. Scholastica's College, Manila and Ateneo de Manila University. Career Gervacio won the WNCAA Juniors Division Best Attacker award in 2006 and 2007. After completing her undergraduate studies at the Ateneo de Manila University and her UAAP career in March 2013, ending the Fab 5 era, Gervacio began her law studies at the same university. On October 22, 2014, Gervacio joined Foton Tornadoes in the 2014 Grand Prix conference of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) as a last-minute replacement for the injured attacker Joey Torrijos.
