Pepsi Mega Bottlers
The TNT Tropang 5G is a professional basketball team currently owned by Smart Communications, a subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) since 1990. The franchise began in 1990 when Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) acquired a PBA franchise. Under PCPPI, the franchise played under the names Pepsi and 7 Up. In 1996, the franchise came under the control of Pilipino Telephone Corporation (Piltel) and played under the name Mobiline. In 2001, the franchise was renamed Talk 'N Text after the operations of Piltel was absorbed by Smart Communications. The team is currently one of three PBA teams under the control of businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan – the others are the Meralco Bolts and NLEX Road Warriors. Manny Pangilinan
Manuel Velez Pangilinan (born July 14, 1946), also known as Manny Pangilinan or by his initials MVP, is a Filipino people, Filipino businessman and sports patron. He is the managing director and CEO of First Pacific, a Hong Kong–based investment management and holding company with operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Pangilinan is also the chairman for First Pacific's investments in the Philippines, including the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, PLDT, and Philex Mining Corporation. He is the chairman emeritus of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and served as its first president for two consecutive terms, from 2007 to 2018. 2012–13 PBA Season
The 2012–13 PBA season was the 38th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. The season formally opened on September 30, 2012, and finished October 25, 2013. This was the longest in PBA history with 13-month span. The season continued to use the three-conference format, starting with the PBA Philippine Cup, Philippine Cup, or the traditional All-Filipino Conference. The mid season PBA Commissioner's Cup, Commissioner's Cup will continue to feature unlimited height limit for imports. The last conference of the season, the PBA Governor's Cup, Governors' Cup will have imports with a 6'5" height limit. Harvey Carey
Harvey Nicklos Miguel Carey (born March 18, 1979) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player. He spent his entire career with the TNT Tropang Giga in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). High school career Carey didn't play basketball until he was in high school, as his first sport was baseball. In his senior year, he led Burton Academic High School to a Division II Academic Athletic Association City Championship. To this day, it is the only championship in their program's history. He also averaged 18 points per game, won San Francisco's public school player of the year honors, and was a first-team all-state selection. College career Carey first played at Skyline Junior College, where he won the team awards of Most Improved Player and Best Defense in his time there. Jimmy Alapag
Jim Olmedo Alapag (born December 30, 1977) is a Filipino-American professional basketball coach and former player. He serves as the player development coach for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is nicknamed "The Mighty Mouse" and "The Captain".
