Penajam North Paser Regency
Penajam North Paser Regency is a regency in the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan. Its administrative centre is the town of Penajam. The area which now forms Penajam North Paser was part of the Pasir Regency until its creation as a separate regency on 10 April 2002. It covers an area of 3,455.86 km2 (of which 3,060.82 km2 is land area and 272.24 km2 is sea area) and it had 142,922 inhabitants at the 2010 censusBiro Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2011. and 178,681 at the 2020 census;Badan Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2021. the official estimate as at mid-2024 was 202,067 (comprising 104,765 males and 97,302 females). Waru is a district of Penajam North Paser Regency, in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2023, it was inhabited by 20,965 people, and currently has a total area of 553.38 km2. Its district seat is located at the village of Waru. The district borders Penajam to the north, Babulu to the southwest, and Long Kali ( Paser) to the west. Sepaku
Sepaku () is a district of Penajam North Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2024, it was inhabited by 41,677 people, an increase from 40,322 people in 2023 and 39,738 people in 2022, and currently has the total area of 1,172.36 km2. It was split off from Penajam on 11 June 1996. Its district seat is located at the village of Tengin Baru. Sepaku is notable for being the site of the future national capital of Nusantara (city), Nusantara, although the local government claimed that only 10% to 20% of the current total area is being included. The Special Region of Kutai () was a regency-level special region within East Kalimantan, Indonesia, that existed from 1953 until 1960. Throughout its existence, it was led by the 19th sultan of Kutai, . Its capital was originally located at Samarinda, although by late 1956, it was moved back to its traditional capital of Tenggarong by the local government.
