Christian County is located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, its population was 88,842. Its county seat is Ozark. The county was organized in 1859 and is named after William Christian, a Kentucky soldier of the American Revolutionary War. Missouri Route 125
Route 125 runs between U.S. Route 65 at Fair Grove and the Arkansas state line, where it continues as Highway 125. After the road crosses into Marion County, Arkansas, the highway crosses Bull Shoals Lake via a free ferry. It is a two-lane road its entire length. Near Chadwick, the highway enters the Mark Twain National Forest and passes through this most of the way to Arkansas. It also overlaps U.S. Route 160 for several miles at Rueter. It overlaps Route 14 through most of Sparta. It crosses US 60 near Rogersville. It cross I-44 near Strafford, Missouri. Linden is an unincorporated community in northern Christian County, Missouri United States. It is located approximately 4.5 miles northwest of Sparta on Route 125, where the highway crosses the Finley Creek. The river has been dammed, creating a small lake, Lake Lindenlure, just east of Route 125. Finley Creek
Finley Creek is a stream in the Ozarks of southern Missouri.''Missouri Atlas & Gazetteer,'' DeLorme, 1998, First edition, p. 62-63, The headwaters of the Finley are in Webster County southeast of Seymour. The stream flows west-southwest into Christian County, through Ozark and into the northeast corner of Stone County to its confluence with the James River at the old townsite of Jamesville. The Finley is bridged by Missouri Route 125 at Linden, Missouri Route 14 and US Route 65 in Ozark, and US Route 160 southwest of the old Riverdale dam. Some say Finley Creek was named after John Finley, who accompanied Daniel Boone to Kentucky in 1769. Others contend that the pair didn’t meet until after Finley had left Kentucky.
