Peace River North
Peace River North is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Canada. It was created under the name North Peace River by the ''Constitution Amendment Act, 1955'', which split the old riding of Peace River into northern and southern portions for the 1956 BC election. Its current name has been in use since 1991. Peace River North has been represented by a variety of British Columbia political parties over the years. The riding has consistently elected political parties that come from the right side of the political spectrum. For many years the riding was represented by the BC Social Credit Party and the centre-right BC Liberal Party. Currently, the riding is represented by the BC Conservative Party. The left-of-centre New Democratic Party has never been successful in electing a candidate to the BC Legislature, despite fielding numerous candidates since the 1950s. Jordan Kealy
Jordan Kealy is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (MLA) since 2024. Originally elected as a member of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, he represents the electoral district of Peace River North. He now sits as an Independent. Early life and career Kealy is a farmer and mechanic by profession. Richard Neufeld
Richard Neufeld (born November 6, 1944) is a former Canadian politician who served as a Senator for British Columbia from 2009 to 2019. He was previously a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, representing the electoral district of Peace River North from 1991 to 2009, and served as Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources in the cabinet of Premier Gordon Campbell. Background Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Neufeld was adopted by his parents from an orphanage, and grew up in the hamlet of Grassy Lake before moving to Fort St. John, British Columbia. He worked as a truck driver, then became a district manager with Tompkins Contracting. He was an alderman on the Fort Nelson council from 1978 to 1981, then served as mayor from 1981 to 1986. Patrick Joseph Pimm (March 31, 1957 – September 18, 2024) was a Canadian politician who served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (MLA) from 2009 to 2017. A member of the BC Liberal Party, he represented the riding of Peace River North. Pimm lived in Fort St. John, British Columbia and had a business background working at an instrumentation company that specializes in the oil and gas sector. He spent 12 years on the Fort St. John city council before his election to the Legislative Assembly. The Peace River Regional District is a regional district in northeastern British Columbia, Canada. The regional district comprises seven municipalities and four electoral areas. Its member municipalities are the cities of Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, the district municipalities of Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Taylor, and Hudson's Hope, and the village of Pouce Coupe. The district's administrative offices are in Dawson Creek. The regional district also has four regional district electoral areas: B, C, D and E. Dan Davies is a Canadian politician served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 2017 to 2024. A member of the BC United Party, he represented the riding of Peace River North. In Opposition, he served as the critic for Education and as the critic for Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Prior to his election to the legislature, Davies was a Fort St. John city councillor.
