''Peace and Love'' is the ninth studio album by American punk band Swingin' Utters. ''Peace and Love'' was released on 31 August 2018 by Fat Wreck Chords. The album was produced by Chris Dugan, who also worked with, among others, Green Day, Iggy Pop and U2. In July 2018 the song "Human Potential" was put online. "Undertaker, Undertake" followed in August. Later, just before the official release of ''Peace and Love'', the entire album was made available for streaming. Background ''Peace and Love'' is the most political album of the Swingin' Utters to date. Chris Dugan
Chris Dugan (born May 11, 1973) is an American Grammy-winning audio engineer, cinematographer, record producer, musician, and singer, best known as the drummer of the Effection and as an audio engineer for Green Day. In 2018, along with Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt, guitarist Jason White, and tour manager Bill Schneider, he formed The Coverups, for which he plays drums. History Dugan began his musical pursuits as a drummer. Needing to be resourceful, he learned to do basic recordings for his high school bands. Engineering was an instinctual progression and it was the purist recording styles of the '60s and '70s that really inspired him. Green Day
Green Day is an American rock band formed in the East Bay of California in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, together with bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. James Newell Osterberg Jr. (born April 21, 1947), known professionally as Iggy Pop, is an American singer, musician, songwriter and actor. Called the " Godfather of Punk", he was the vocalist and lyricist of proto-punk band The Stooges, who were formed in 1967 and have disbanded and reunited many times since. ''The Big Takeover'' is a bi-annual music magazine published out of New York City since May 1980 by critic Jack Rabid. History Establishment Jack Rabid and Dave Stein began publishing ''The Big Takeover'' in May 1980 as a fanzine dedicated to New York punk band the Stimulators. The pair had formed a garage band the previous month called Even Worse, originally playing mainly punk rock cover songs. Johnny "Peebucks" Bonnel (born August 7, 1967) is the lead singer and a songwriter of the punk rock band Swingin' Utters and the alternative punk rock band Filthy Thievin' Bastards. His new project is called Druglords of the Avenues. His nickname, Johnny Peebucks, came from an incident at a party where he became so inebriated that he lost control of his bladder. He later went to Taco Bell with some friends, and paid for his food using wet dollar bills. After the cashier inquired as to whether Johnny had just been swimming, he replied "No, I pissed my pants."
