Pauline Von Königsegg
Countess Pauline Marie von Königsegg-Aulendorf (1830–1912), was an Austrian noblewoman and Imperial court official. Early life ''Pauline Marie'' was born as younger daughter of Count August von Bellegarde (1795-1873) and his wife, Baroness Julia von Gudenus (1795-1865). She was paternal granddaughter of Count Heinrich von Bellegarde, who served as Viceroy of Lombardy-Venetia. Court life She was the lady in waiting to Empress Elisabeth of Austria, later promoted to the position of Oberhofmeisterin, where she replaced Countess Sophie Esterházy, a friend and close confidant of Archduchess Sophie. She was a favorite and confidant of the Empress Sissi. Countess Pauline was later awarded with an Order of the Starry Cross. Austrian Nobility
The Austrian nobility () is a status group that was officially abolished in 1919 after the fall of Austria-Hungary. Austria's system of nobility was very similar to that of Germany (see German nobility), as both countries were previously part of the Holy Roman Empire (962–1806). Any noble living in the Habsburg-ruled lands, and who owed allegiance to the dynasty and therefore to the emperor, was also considered part of the Austrian aristocracy. This applied to any member of the Bohemian, Hungarian, Polish, Croatian, and other nobilities in the Habsburg dominions. Attempting to differentiate between ethnicities can be difficult, especially for nobles during the eras of the Holy Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian monarchy (1867–1918). Princess Sophie Marie Josepha of Liechtenstein, Countess Esterházy von Galántha (5 September 1798 – 27 June 1869), was an Austrian noblewoman and Imperial court official. As the daughter of Johann I Joseph, Prince of Liechtenstein, she was a princess of Liechtenstein by birth. Born and raised in Vienna, she was selected to serve in the Austrian imperial court as Oberhofmeisterin ( mistress of the Robes) to Empress Elisabeth of Austria from 1854 to 1862.
