Paul-Émile Allard
Paul-Émile Allard (July 15, 1920 – January 6, 1995) was a Canadian provincial politician. He was the Union Nationale (Quebec), Union Nationale member of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for Beauce (provincial electoral district), Beauce from 1962 to 1970. He was the Minister of Natural Resources from 1967 to 1970. He was also mayor of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Quebec from 1959 to 1965. Beauce (provincial Electoral District)
Beauce () was a former provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches and Estrie regions of Quebec, Canada. It elected members to the National Assembly of Quebec (earlier known as the Legislative Assembly of Quebec). It was created for the 1867 election, and electoral districts of that name existed even earlier: see Beauce (Province of Canada electoral district) and Beauce (Lower Canada). Its final election was in 1970. It disappeared in the 1973 election and its successor electoral districts were Beauce-Nord and Beauce-Sud. Fabien Roy
Fabien Roy (; April 17, 1928 – October 31, 2023) was a Canadian politician who was active in Quebec in the 1970s. Roy was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec and the House of Commons of Canada, and advocated social credit theories of monetary reform. Background Roy was born in Saint-Prosper, Quebec, the son of Anna-Marie (Goulet) and Fridolin Roy, an accountant. He studied accounting, sales management, and human resources in the Saint-Georges seminary, and commercial law, political economy and business administration at Université Laval. In 1980, following his departure from politics, he studied property valuation. The Union nationale () was a conservatism, conservative and Nationalism, nationalist provincial political party in Quebec, Canada, that identified with Autonomism in Quebec, Québécois autonomism. It was created during the Great Depression and held power in Quebec from 1936 to 1939, from 1944 to 1960 and from 1966 to 1970. The party was founded by Maurice Duplessis, who led it until his death in 1959. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce () is a city in the Municipalité régionale de comté Beauce-Centre in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population was 5,014 as of the Canada 2021 Census. The new city constitution dates from 1999, when the city of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce and the parish municipality of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce amalgamated. However, the territory was settled as a ''seigneurie'' in 1736 under Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil, which makes it the oldest settlement in Beauce. In 1747, Vaudreuil would exchange it to Joseph de Fleury de La Gorgendière, who would initiate the development of the settlement. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce is the seat of the judicial district of Beauce. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce holds an annual Truck drag race event, the ''Accélération de camions à St-Joseph-de-Beauce'' (Big Rig Drag Racing) which established in 2004.
