Patterson Township, Ontario
Patterson Township is a geographic township in central Ontario, Canada. As it is unincorporated, it is located in the Central Unorganized portion of Parry Sound District. The township is located where the French River flows from Lake Nipissing, and then stretches south until it meets Pringle Township in the south. It is bordered by Nipissing Township on the east, and by Hardy Township on the west. Patterson only has one community, that of Restoule. Most of its settlement is found in the southern region where Restoule is, and along the two lakes of the south, Restoule Lake and Commanda Lake. It is part of the Almaguin Highlands region. There are also some cottages located on the south shore of Lake Nipissing, but the area has no permanent residences. There are approximately 300 people living in the township (415 including nearby Farleys Corners and Carr). Christopher Salmon Patterson
Christopher Salmon Patterson (January 16, 1823 – July 24, 1893) was a Canadian Puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada. Born in London, England, the son of John and Ann Patterson, he studied at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution in Ireland. In 1845, he emigrated to Picton, Canada West (now Ontario), Canada. He was called to the Canada West Bar in 1851 and moved to Toronto in 1856 and practised law. In 1874, he was appointed to the Ontario Court of Error and Appeal. In 1888, he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1888. He served until his death in 1893. Commanda Lake
Commanda Lake (or Lake Commanda) is a lake in central Ontario, Canada. Located on the border between Patterson Township and Pringle Township, in the Almaguin Highlands region of the District of Parry Sound, it is fed by Gee Creek, Commanda Creek and Beaudry Creek and is drained by the Restoule River. The Lake is shaped like the number "3", its middle spur is called Deep Bay. The lake is home to one permanent island, located off a point in its east. This is a mud bottom lake and its water is "tea coloured." On the north shore of the lake is the community of Restoule, but cottages line many of the shore lines. Crown land surrounds much of the lake shore. The lake has one public boat launch towards the southern end of the lake accessible on Commanda Lake Road. Sandy's was a chain of American fast-food restaurants begun in 1956 by four entrepreneurs from Kewanee, Illinois: Gus "Brick" Lundberg, Robert C. Wenger, Paul White and W. K. Davidson. Sandy's was the ancestor of the midwestern franchises of the Hardee's restaurant chain. Baldy Lake
Baldy Lake is a lake in the east-central part of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan in Narrow Hills Provincial Park. It is situated in the Cub Hills and the boreal forest ecozone of Canada. Baldy Lake is accessed from a secondary road that branches off from the Hanson Lake Road. It is east of the larger Stickley Lake and is surrounded by a forest of mature jack pine. The lake's outflow is a short stream that flows west into Stickley Lake, which in turn flows south into Upper Fishing Lake. Upper Fishing Lake is along the course of Caribou Creek, which flows into Lower Fishing Lake and eventually on to the Saskatchewan River via Stewart Creek and Torch River. Recreation Baldy Lake Campground is a small campground located at the northern end of the lake that is RV accessible with five non-electric campsites.
