Patriotism
Patriotism is the feeling of love, devotion, and a sense of attachment to one's country or state. This attachment can be a combination of different feelings for things such as the language of one's homeland, and its ethnic, cultural, political, or historical aspects. It may encompass a set of concepts closely related to nationalism, mostly civic nationalism and sometimes cultural nationalism. ''The Patriot'' (French: ''Le patriote'') is a 1938 French historical drama film directed by Maurice Tourneur and starring Harry Baur, Pierre Renoir and Suzy Prim. The ''California Patriot'' was an independent, student-run, glossy-covered opinion magazine at the University of California, Berkeley. History The magazine was started in 2000 by two 19-year-old sophomores, Tyler Monroe and Kelso Barnett. Overview The magazine's mission was to promote conservative politics and opinion at the university. The magazine printed eight issues a year and was distributed on the Berkeley campus free of charge. When a new issue was released, the ''Patriot'' homepage provided a link to a pdf version for reading. The ''Patriot'' also provided subscription options. ''The Patriots'' was an Australian television drama mini-series. A period-drama, it aired for 10 episodes on ABC in 1962. This was among a series of period dramas produced by the broadcaster, being preceded by '' Stormy Petrel'' (1960) and '' The Outcasts'' (1961), and followed by '' The Hungry Ones'' (1963). The first two had been written by Rex Rienits but this one was written by Phillip Grenville Mann.
