Patrick Shawn Herrity (born January 26, 1960) is an American politician and financial consultant serving as a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors from the Springfield district since 2008. Fairfax County Board Of Supervisors
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, sometimes abbreviated as FCBOS, is the governing body of Fairfax County, Virginia, a county of over a million in Northern Virginia. The board has nine districts, and one at-large district which is always occupied by the Chair. Members may serve unlimited number of four-year terms, as there are no term limits. The Board usually meets two Tuesdays every month in the Board Auditorium at the Fairfax County Government Center near Fairfax, Virginia. Members of the public are invited to attend these meetings. The chair presides at all meetings, and has all of the powers of a member, including one vote. The chair, however, does not have the power to veto legislation. Fairfax Station is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 12,420 at the 2020 census. Located in Northern Virginia, its center is located southwest of Washington, D.C. History Established in 1851, Fairfax Station was originally a station of the Orange and Alexandria Railroad, with proximity to the county seat of Fairfax; it was known as "Lee's Station" during its first year. During the Civil War in August 1862, Clara Barton tended to wounded Union and Confederate troops at the station after the Second Battle of Bull Run (Manassas), with headquarters at nearby St. Mary's Church. An employee of the U.S. Patent Office in Washington at the start of the war, Barton later founded the American Red Cross in 1881. Sharon Bulova
Sharon Schuster Bulova is an American politician who served as chairwoman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in Virginia. A Democrat, she was first elected chairwoman in a special election on February 3, 2009. Bulova was reelected in 2011 and again on November 3, 2015. She retired at the end of her last term in December 2019, and was replaced by fellow Democrat Jeff McKay. Gerry Connolly
Gerald Edward Connolly (March 30, 1950 – May 21, 2025) was an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 11th congressional district from 2009 until his death in 2025. A Democrat, he was first elected in 2008 to replace retiring Republican incumbent Tom Davis, who did not seek re-election and later resigned shortly after the election. The 11th district is situated in the suburbs of Northern Virginia. It is anchored in the affluent Fairfax County, where Connolly served on the county's board of supervisors before his election to Congress, and also includes the entirety of Fairfax City. John F. "Jack" Herrity (1932 – February 1, 2006) was an American businessman, lawyer and politician, who served as a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for 16 years from 1976 to 1988, including 12 years as chairman. Biography Herrity was born in Arlington County, Virginia in 1932, and was raised in Prince George's County. He attended Georgetown University, receiving an undergraduate in law. He later started Jack Herrity and Associates, an insurance business. In 1974, he ran against Robert E. Harris for Virginia House of Delegates, but lost the Republican nomination. Herrity was elected chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on January 5, 1976, and serving until December 31, 1988.
